Fun little walk that we enjoyed. Took about 45 minutes and plenty to see. Has a basic cafe on site... read more
We did this Skywalk as part of a Hinterland day coach trip from Surfers Paradise. The Skywalk element was a severe disappointment as the "skywalk" element consisted of only some 100 metres of forest canopy viewing, and the the rest of the walk was merely a stroll on an unpaved, somewhat rough, up and down path, through the rain forest, which can be done in numerous parts of the National Parks! Not recommended for elderly patrons! If you want to experience a really good skywalk, try the one near Hokitika in NZ!
Do yourself a favour and go to any other local national park or waterfall. Save yourself $20.
We got sucked in by glossy ads and brochures. This attraction is audacious! $20 to walk over a high bridge through the trees. A few info panels, a couple of bridges... Absolutely not worth the money.
We were disappointed and went to Curtis Falls on our way home - Totally free, better views, and no tacky giftshop.
We drive from surfers paradise to come here, its worth a look if your driving past but do not go out of your way to come here.. The walk is quite short and the majority is along the rainforest floor, no great picture opportunities, and for $20 you don't get your money's worth
This is an outstanding experience. An easy walk on the elevated rainforest canopy walk, (it does not swing as you walk on it) and a very easy walk down hill afterwards. It is a natural wonderland. The café is an excellent place to share a coffee afterwards, again high in the trees.
This walk is pricey, considering you only get a short walk through the actual canopy. But that said it is lovely and cool, the views are tremendous and we took our time over it. I would recommend it, especially if you are of the older persuasion.
But it is true, you could get the same for free elsewhere on the mountain.
The facilities here (gift shop/café, bathrooms) are well maintained. The Skywalk construction is solid and impressive, however not very much of the walk comprises of actual Skywalk. Most is just a regular bushwalk. The walk itself was pretty but nothing special and while we had a pleasant enough time as there was almost no one else there, we expected more for the price of entry.
