This cottage is wonderful, 5 star in all areas. Warm, spacious, highly maintained, everything is thought of. Great position in a very dog friendly pretty village. Just 5 mins to fabulous beach. Pubs and good food within walking distance and a warm welcome at the local Church. The owners of Prospect Cottage could not be more helpful and we have had a wonderful holiday.
Very Simple cottage with every thing you need, comfortable and clean. Plenty of space for our family of 5 . Good size garden at the front as well as off road parking. Electricity was on a pay meter but the £10 credit was enough for the whole week.
Situated in a quiet village, not the tacky amusement filled resorts just down the coast. Just a 10 minute walk to the lovely sandy beach which always had plenty of sand ( dogs allowed which was great for us as it is usually difficult to find somewhere we can go with our dog) really clean. Strong tides but not too shelved.
Great place to explore, really enjoyed the walks in the sand dunes/heathland and if you like Geocaching, which we do, there are plenty in the area. Don't forget to hire a boat on the broads (£55 for half a day), great chance to see the nature.

Being nature nuts we've been to this part of Norfolk several times, so already knew where Prospect Cottage is, which is why we chose it. Being in the centre of the village, it's a short stroll to the beach (with nice cafe) and the dunes nature reserve. Even closer are the post office, convenience store, village pub and the Hermanus Restaurant. We went at the end of the Christmas break for a special reason - to see the hundreds of Grey Seals that have their pups on the beach there, and we weren't disappointed. Alas, we just missed the "Norfolk Whale" - a Humpback that has been feeding on the herring shoals off Winterton for the last few weeks! Let's hope it returns next autumn.
Back to the Cottage - it had all you could wish for, quaint old building with plenty of space downstairs, windy stairs up to 2 doubles and a single bedroom. Very quiet at night - we slept like babies after all that sea air (and maybe the Adnams). Everything looked new and spotless. Plenty of parking both at the front and back, just as well as we walked everywhere!
Highly recommended - we're thinking of returning in the summer. Much cheaper than the better known North Norfolk villages too. But please, don't all come!
