Lovely cottage, everyone very friendly in the village, took both dogs down to the beach every morning for a swim . Would recommend sitting by the river by the
Swan inn at Horning eating from their varied menu. Would come again.
Stayed here with my brother and two sisters. Youngest 59 - oldest 69. The cottage was lovely and In a beautiful well kept village. Across the road from a pub where dogs are welcomed. And minutes from the beach. Amenities in village include a post office, a well stocked grocers store, fish and chip shop, and locals selling fresh eggs , vegetables and home baked goods. There is also a village hall and a church. There are lots of lovely coastal villages within a short distance - but the highlight of our trip was going to Horsey Beach and seeing the grey seals. AMAZING. Big thanks to Jean ( next door neighbour ) who was a mine of information about the area and our point of contact if any problems. We all had a great time.

We had a beautiful holiday at Periwinkle cottage. The place was spotless and there was plenty of room for everyone.
The position of the cottage could not have been better: 5 minutes from the beach and 30 seconds from the pub.
The neighbour, who is also the housekeeper, was lovely. Very friendly and helpful. One day she came round with a plate of jam tarts for the children. Lovely Norfolk hospitality.
I would recommend Periwinkle to anyone wanting a perfect, tranquil holiday on the Norfolk coast.
We have just enjoyed our fourth holiday in Periwinkle Cottage. The cottage conveniently suits a large family, having bathroom, shower room and an upstairs toilet - no queueing in the morning. The kitchen is well equiped for eight people with numerous cooking and serving utensils and dishes. The enclosed rear garden is ideal for children and there is a playing field around the corner. The beach is only a short walk away and there are plenty of local walks (walk along the valley between the sand dunes to Hemsby for example). Village shops are two minutes walk away. The next door neigbour, who looks after the house for the owner, is very helpful when required, and ensures that you have everything that you need without being intrusive. We can certainly recommend Periwinkle for a family holiday.
Lovely, but it's a reasonably small cottage. House was in good order, although bathrooms could have been a little cleaner.
Good kitchen and easily coped with 9 of us, although not a huge amount of storage. TV is set to free view and there a good selection of dvd's available.
Excellent location and 5 minute walk to the beach. Local pub is a 10 metres away and the staff are very friendly. Food was excellent, although they can get busy. Thoroughly recommend the chilli con carnie.......
Lots of things to do nearby Bewilderwood (25 mins) Yarmouth Racing (20 mins) and Norfolk Broads (35 mins).
Just a shame that the busy body neighbour next door is also the housekeeper. Sadly one of the rudest people I've ever met. You would arrive back in your car and she would be waiting to jump on you for whatever reason seemed to be topic of the day. Twice I had to ask her not to speak to me like I was a dog. Just left a bad taste in our mouth as her attention was continues for very little reason.
We would recommend staying here, but be warned about a rude Mrs 'Bucket'.......
