“Proper traditional cottage ideal for Chester area, everything done nicely for you”
Reviewed 24 October 2017 for a stay in October 2017

This is a proper traditional cottage, brilliant location for us to go to Chester Zoo and Chester in just 15 minutes. Everything you need was already set up in the cottage - all nice and cosy. Owner very friendly and next door pretty much. Village is a very short walk away with a good size shop and a nice local pub to go to. Rooms good size and lots laid on for our two children. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay for a trip to North West

“Comfortable cottage”

We had a lovely comfortable stay here, the cottage had everything that we needed for a self catering holiday. For the most part it was clean in that the rooms were clean and tidy but there were quite a few cobwebs around. However this did not spoil our stay in any way. Some of the equipment was old and some crockery was badly cracked or chipped but there was more than enough uncracked crockery to use.
I think the cottage just needs a bit of a sort out. The owner was friendly enough and kept herself to herself but was there if needed. We had use of the garden as and when we wanted it. There is a fantastic restaurant only 100 yards up the road and a good pub too. A little further away is another hotel/pub (the Stamford Bridge) which I would also highly recommend. This is a good place to stay if visiting Chester or North Wales as there is plenty to do within a short drive.

There can always be the odd cobweb in a beamed old cottage. There is no cracked crockery that I can see You left the cooker uncleaned and tea in the tea pot! Not our usual calibre of guest. You just made piles of unnecessary washing.

We had a lovely couple of days at the cottage for my mum's 70th birthday. Everything you can think of is available, Tarvin is a lovely village and we had a really cosy time. Thank you very much!
