“What a fantastic find a 10 minute walk from Lulworth Cove”

We stayed at this beautiful house for one week and had a wonderful time. We were blessed with the weather but the house is in an amazing place. Even though the front backs onto the main road to the Cove, entrance is via the back of the house and the road itself is not really that busy. The house is really well equipped and having four bathrooms is just great, no queuing!! Garden is lovely and dog proofed. The drive is narrow but only to get through the actual gates then it's fine. We have a 4x4 and managed to squeeze through happily. Once we got there we hardly used the car anyway as so easy to walk to the Cove, the Pub(s), and along to Durdle Door. Really hope to return again and will be recommending to friends.

“Fantastic holiday home for large families or groups of friends”

Pebble Beach Cottage is a fantastic property. 3 of the 4 double bedrooms have ensuite facilities (which leaves the family bathroom for sole use for occupants of bedroom 4!) - hence being ideal for large families or groups of friends. Each room also has a TV and there is wifi access. It has the look of a traditional cottage but was built only a few years ago. It is equipped with modern furniture and modern kitchen appliances. It is also geared up for small children (high chair and travel cot provided) - which was useful as our party (all family) included 5 adults and one baby.
When we first entered the cottage we all expressed how amazing it was.
It is well located - a 5-10 minute walk to Lulworth Cove - and 2 walkable pubs - Lulworth Cove Inn and The Castle Inn. Both excellent venues for just a drink and/or meal. If you like a challenging walk you can walk from Lulworth Cove to Durdle Door over the South West Coastal Path. Not recommended if you are unfit in anyway. There isn't much of the walk (about 1.5 miles) that isn't a steep incline/decline!
Its also a good base for trips further afield by car - Weymouth, Portland Bill, West Bay, Swanage, Studland etc - all places I would recommend for a day trip. Not so sure about Bridport though. Not a lot going on there really.
The only minor issue we found with the cottage was the width of the driveway (accessed at the rear of the property). It was challenging getting into and out of the drive. Without parking sensors and others guiding you in it could have resulted in lost wing mirrors at the very least. If you plan on taking a large vehicle check the width before you travel. We did manage get 2 cars on the drive though (just) so length wise just about OK.
One other minor thing to watch out for is events taking place in the area. We were there at the same time that the Lulworth "Bestival" took place at nearby Lulworth Castle. This involved diversions and road closures around east Lulworth and rendered the Sat Nav unusable if travelling east (to Studland/Swanage for example). I would say the 'diversions' they had in place would have been well understood by locals but we found them difficult to follow. I would advise taking a map and planning your journey - as we used to have to before the days of Sat Nav.
Nearby Supermarkets are also rare. There is a Londis in the village - ideal for topping up provisions but not a major shop. Recommend you take initial supply of milk, bread, cereal, snacks, drink etc with you.
Seems more negatives than positives but that was not the case. It really is an excellent holiday home and I would thoroughly recommend it to anybody.
