Just visited the bark house recently & had a lovely time , the accommodation & food excellent . Being a family run b&b We were welcomed like old friends though all with just the right amount of professionalism to make us feel at ease . Definitely be back soon , maybe in the warmer weather

Rick, Gina and Barbara were absolutely wonderful during our two night stay here to attend a wedding at a local venue. They were charming and wonderful hosts to a bunch of North Americans (Canada and US). I loved the small but important touches in our room and the duvet was lovely to sleep in. Thank you for welcoming us to your establishment and making us feel like we were at home. We can definitely recommend the Barkhouse to friends. Oh...if you get a chance, ask to see the kitchen, it`s fantastic, but Gina told me that they plan to upgrade it and make some other changes at the B&B...although it`s pretty perfectly charming just the way it is. If there`s any left....try Barbara`s Orange Marmalade with Gin. :-)

Gina, Gina's Mum and Rick made us feel so welcome. We had a lovely room with comfy bed and our dinners and breakfasts were delicious. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to return when we are down that way. The pheasant soup was good Rick and I managed to see an Exmoor pony Gina on the way home. Thankyou to you all for being so friendly and good fun

Room Tip: The nearby road can be a bit noisy, but this does not in any way affect the hospitality of this lovely family

A fabulous 2 night break with my mum. We took two dogs and stayed in the family room with access straight outside for exercise and a fenced area just over the road. Facilities were great, room was enormous and the food (breakfast and dinner) were excellent. Rick is a super cook and the food is freshly made to order. It was our first stay outside of a hotel and I have to say we were both very impressed. Thank you.

We have just returned from a delightful 3 night stay at the Barkhouse. We found the place thanks to a buy-a-gift voucher and needing somewhere we could bring our dog.

Rick was the most friendly and welcoming host and we felt like nothing was too much trouble. His breakfasts each morning were delicious and there was a wide range to choose from.

As for the guesthouse itself, we found it fresh and clean with an abundance of olde-world charm. Our bed was really comfy and our room had plenty of space for us, our dog and our 14 week old daughter plus all the bits we needed to bring for her. We had an exterior which meant we could easily take the dog in and out without disturbing other guests at anytime he needed us to. Considering this property is on a main road, the road noise was minimal and we barely noticed it.

Bailey loved running riot around the field opposite although the beautiful river and weir proved too much of a temptation on occasions.

Thank you so much Gina and Rick for making our first holiday as a family so relaxing. We are definitely hoping to visit again soon.
