This place gets busy especially on Sundays, but worth a visit. The place was buzzy with snack stall from the gate to the temple. There were several sections to visit and lots of interesting bits.
You need to spend more time here to soak up the atmosphere. Try and come here when you are hungry as there are lots of snacks to enjoy.

It’s definitely worth a visit but it is extremely busy. The buildings are stunning but there wasn’t as much to do or see here as we had hoped. Maybe best not to plan too many hours here.

I love Japan's temples and shrines. Because this is one of the biggest, it's one of the most touristy. The floods of people made it impossible to appreciate the beauty of the shrine inside the temple. In addition, people were largely ignoring the no photographs signs which is quite disrespectful.

I recommend visiting the palace garden which costs about 300¥ to enter. That was very beautiful and included some impressive indoors Japanese art.
