The Arietta is really well located, very close to Exit 1 of the Hommachi station on the Midosuji line. There are plenty of places to eat close by, and there is also a Mini Stop (convenience store) just down the road. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the light breakfast provided in the large lobby is great.
We were fairly happy with the room. While on the small side by Western standards (there was barely enough room for our bags and the bed), it was nicely appointed and contained everything we needed for our stay. There were also items that reception can loan you, such as nail clippers and chargers. We are pretty hard to impress in terms of room cleanliness, but we were super impressed with the Arietta on this aspect. It was spotlessly clean on arrival, and returned it to this state every time they serviced the room. The bathroom was fairly spacious on comparison to the room, and included a bath and a toilet with many electronic functions ('music', bidet, etc). The toiletries provided were lovely as well.
We only had two complaints about the Arietta: firstly, the bed was VERY hard. My husband eloquently described the pillows as sleeping on a sack of sand. Secondly, the size of the rooms. Being 'Westerners', we often felt like Gulliver in Lilliput. Overall, however, it is a great hotel and location for the price.More
