A nice hotel with relatively large rooms (for Japan). Just 5 minutes from Hakata station. Hotel staff can communicate in English and are very helpful.

However, be careful which one you booked. There are 2 JR Kyushu Blossom hotels! This one is JR Kyushu Blossom Fukuoka. There's another (about 10~15 minutes walk) called JR Kyushu Blossom Hakata Chuo.

It's obvious many people get the two confused as they have printed maps for getting from one hotel to the other.

Make sure you exit the correct side of Hakata station because there are 2 JR Hotels. The hotel is not huge but offers rooms which are unusually big, clean and have everything. Breakfast on the lower floor is rather japanese but westerners survive easily: Buffet and eggs freshly made. The prices are moderate. The personal is friendly. The cleanliness is breathtaking. There is a Lawson supermarket 20 meters away. The train station is 5 min walk. The Metro station to the airport is in the trainstation. Metro accepts Suica or Pasmo card. You can exchange your JR railpass in the trainstation - many people queue there.

Hotel was located very close to Hakata station - Exit 6 from the station is the closest.

Rooms were spacious & came with a free rental smartphone for the duration of your stay. The phone has free mobile data and an app guiding you to nearby interesting places.

Toilet has a heated mirror that prevents fogging after bathing - very useful feature!

I reviewed this hotel previously.....save that at the time I was unaware that there are two of similar name, the JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Hakatachuo (where we previously lodged) and the JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Fukuoka where we lodged on this most recent visit to Fukuoka. The former is near the Hakata Gate of the railway station, the latter near the Chikushi Gate of the station. Both are within easy walking distance of the station with its impressive amenities for the traveler. So, if being one side of the station is your preference, choose carefuly. Both are excellent value but we felt that the room size of that titled "Fukuoka" was marginally larger than that titled "Hakatachuo".

Room tip: We guess all the rooms are quiet

Dont expect it is next to JR station. You have to cross two streets from JR station to get to the hotel. And ny experience is it is not easy to find ppl who knew the location of the hotel on the street. It seemed the google map was not accurate too. I was once desperated to try to take a taxi. But luckily the taxi driver refused to drive me there. Then with a few aimlessly walk, I found the hotel was just next to the corner.

The hotel is inexpensive, nice, clean, quiet and spacious by Japan standard.

P.s. Dont try the basement restaurant opposite to the hotel.
