I was here for several nights in May during a public holiday period for a conference at the Pacifico Yokohama. It was about a 15 minute walk, either along the canal or in poor weather you can get there directly by walking through a series of interconnected shopping malls, almost completely protected from the elements. This made it more convenient than it looked from the map - with plenty of food options nearby. A few downsides: the staff had pretty limited English and struggled when any conversation wasn't a routine one. I needed a business shirt cleaned on a public holiday and their normal supplier was closed and would be the next day for another public holiday. I had to come to the desk four times before I was able to understand the situation and it was resolved: by sending the shirt to the Intercontinental Hotel. Final cost - around US$40 and a lot of having to shuttle back to the hotel from the conference to get this very minor issue sorted.

The hotel had a great breakfast buffet, but there were some limitations. First, the posted opening hours only started at 7am - which was fine for the many families staying there but no good for those of us who needed to meet as a delegation over breakfast. However they did appear to be opening at 6.30 while we were there (which we only discovered on day 2) but the restaurant was so full by 7 that you couldn't get a seat, and no reservations were taken, even after I explained I was travelling with a VIP - a government minister.

Otherwise, fine. The room was typical Japanese small and the miniature ironing board had to be stood up on the tiny desk so was less than ideal for a business traveller. Often had to call for the iron and board several times before it arrived as there appeared only to be one or a couple in the whole hotel.

Bed was good, room was quiet, blinds very effective. Internet worked fine too.

The only thing good here is the view, a nearby train station & close to my customer meeting place but the front desk staff that checked me in had an attitude & service is very bland. Not helpful at all, well you ask a question they give a short answer that's it, no value added customer service. Pricey too (w/o breakfast). I guess there are other hotels nearby which can provide more value for the same price.

Our room overlooked the bay view and it was stunning to have that view greet you in the morning. Room was modern and bed was comfy. Showers and appliances are all new and modern. Hotel room is clean and connected to the shopping centers and office building. Sakuragicho train station is just 1 minute away.
