The highlight of this hotel is the view across Barolo to the castle, which is lovely. So ask for a room with a view, preferably on an upper floor.
The hotel accomodation is separate from the reception and restaurant, so a bit of a walk for breakfast and dinner, but not a real problem.
Our room was quite large and had a small terrace but the whole offering was pretty dull and uninspiring. Felt like a motel.
There is a large pool but - and I should have read the small print - you can't swim without a swimming cap (available for purchase, of course) and poolside loungers are only available for rent.
That is a double first and both very unwelcome!
The poolside bar is disappointingly scruffy.
Stay somewhere else.

My husband and I had visited Hotel Barolo in the past, so we knew to ask for a room in the "old" section as there is also a new separate hotel on the property. We had asked for a room with a view of the Barolo castle. Our room had the beautiful view we asked for, was clean and welcoming. We will return again.

Room Tip: Choose a room in the "old" hotel for a more "authentic" feel.

We stayed two nights at this charmig hotel with a fantastisk view of the village and the castle. The pool was à plus during hot september days. Friendly staff and the hotel had also a good restaurant. Barolo village and the surroundings were fantastic

I was in the new building. The AC worked very well. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast (included in my room price) was excellent. The coffee superb. The hotel is called "Hotel Barolo" but some people just refer to it as "Brezza" because it is co-located with the Brezza Restaurant.

Room Tip: My review applies to the new section.

Room was large and clean, staff very helpful, minutes walk to center of Barolo. Restaurant was closed the night we were there so we ate elsewhere. Breakfast was typically light though they did prepare eggs at our request. Wifi was excellent.

Stayed: May 2016, travelled with friends
