Owner description: Book onto a guided tour of the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum. Awarded the status of “Gem Museum” by Visit England in 2016, this literary birthplace and social history museum, is located in the beautiful county of Nottinghamshire. The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is the childhood home of the controversial author D.H. Lawrence, situated in the ex-mining town of Eastwood and surrounded by lovely countryside, both of which influenced Lawrence's life and literature. It is open to the public as a museum, with entry times for guided tours, and we welcome everyone to come and find out more - whether you've read any Lawrence books or not!

A little gem of a museum, full of fascinating artefacts relating to the life of D.H. Lawrence. The staff made us feel very welcome and our tour guide, Anne-Marie, gave us an excellent insight into the everyday lives of the Lawrence family in this small terraced house. We also got information about the Blue Line Trail around Eastwood which leads to many places (mentioned by our guide) that are associated with his early life - definitely going back for a visit to do this walk and to explore the surrounding area which he loved.
Parking nearby £1 all day.

My wife and I took a tour of the house. We loved every minute. Our guide Anne- Marie was brilliant and answered all our questions. I took some photos on the way round. We parked nearby for free. There is a cafe across the road. First class museum.

First class tour of the D H Lawrence Birthplace museum given by Anne-Marie. Anne- Marie was also very helpful beforehand when booking the visit, providing details of car parking and other things to do in Eastwood.
Many thanks for an enjoyable and poignant afternoon spent in the home of this literary giant.
