We returned to Prati Piani for the third time to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the Ligurian mountains and the cozy ambiance of this resort which was originally built and owned by the Italian Agnesi family. The really special aspect of the buildings at Prati Piani is the fact that the current owners meticulously rebuilt and decorated the compound with the same architectural elements reflecting the 1930s era when Prati Piani was originally constructed.
The hosts and owners, Monica and André did an excellent job to facilitate our needs and they kept a low profile, allowing us to enjoy our stay at our own pleasure. This time around (July 2015), we stayed with the five of us in the "villa" where Winston Churchill once spent various nights during one of his journeys through post-war Europe. A couple of times we tasted the food prepared by Monica (yummy!) and the remaining days we visited some of the restaurants in nearby Badalucco and in the picturesque Montalto.
At Piani there is a decent size swimming pool, a sauna, hot tub, ping pong table and a large lawn allowing soccer, badminton and other sports activities. We explored the mountains above Piani during a beautiful hike which featured thousands of blossoming flowers and (too many) flies. We also rented mountain bikes from the owners and explored the extended area of Liguria.
Overall an extraordinary stay at this unforgettable resort!
