After climbing straight up from Manarola on the 6d trail forever we finally got to Volastra. We were planning to continue hiking to Corniglia, but instead turned right to check out the tiny town. We were happy to find the l'Arcobaleno open at lunch time. What a great little place. Full deli to make paninis at lunch time. Wine on tap. And when you order wine they bring you free olives and foccacio bread in the old Italian tradition. Very inexpensive. And with no one speaking English we knew we would get great food and service, and we were not disappointed. And since we burned off over 1000 calories just climbing there from Manarola it really was a diet place. (or at least I imagine it was)
