We were lost today. We forget if we are in Myanmar or America ... come on ... 7 dollars for one chicken/rice !!! SOS Bye bye
This is the "best" in town in terms of environmemt with higher prices since it caters mainly for tourists, both local and foreign. The local curries are fine, as good as you can get in Mrauk U. The fried chicken was overcooked. We ate 2 out of 3 dinners theres.
We visited Moe Cherry twice during our stay in Mrauk U. The family running the restaurant are exceptionally welcoming and friendly, there is an English menu and they spoke great English which, as a vegetarian, made ordering easy! Both visits we were given extra dishes to try for free, and all the food was excellent. Definitely make a stop at Moe Cherry if you're in Mrauk U.
Heard about Moe Cherry from our guide. Apparently so did every other tourist. Fairly attentive wait staff for such a busy place. Clean and bathroom was fine.
FOOD: Lunch was lime juice, pennywort leaf salad, tomato salad, chicken curry and rice, and stir fried noodle. I'd order everything again except the chicken curry. It was okay, but I've had much better elsewhere in Rakhine.
BANG FOR BUCK: the bill was ~15,000 MMK for all that and a coke. No bad, but food in Mrauk U is a little pricier than Sittwe, prob since it's a rural area. Generous portion size and good rice. Listen to all the guides and join the tourists--eat here already.
