I've stayed at this place twice and I've been more than satisfied each time. The cabins have a rustic charm and are well-appointed. This is a total romantic getaway, but also works for friends or families. The breakfast is unbelievable. I challenge you to finish it. And it's brought to your cabin. Beat that.

This is a place to get away totally. No TV, no internet - just peace and quiet. They also offer a terrific dinner if you order ahead of time.

Our cabin was in the cherry orchard and the cherries were ripe. Amazingly delicious.

I have never felt compelled to write a review yet, but today I find myself doing so. We arrived mid afternoon and after a brief search, the owner, Guy, came out to meet us. He seemed to treat our arrival as an inconvenience. There was no welcome whatsoever, nor any explanation of the facilities on offer, or recommendations of nearby attractions. Instead, he merely waved us in the direction of our chalet, and said "that's where you are" and seemed desperate to get away as quickly as possible. We asked about meals. On the chalet's website, it boasted of warm stews for supper, and gatherings in convivial settings, either indoors or outdoors. So we asked about supper, and were told in an offhand way that we should have booked in advance, but there was a restaurant nearby.
Dismayed, after the glowing write up on the website, we hoped at least for a decent breakfast, which he mentioned in passing. We asked about internet, and he said we could probably get wifi in our room from the nearby restaurant. If it doesn't work, we asked, can we come over to the main lobby, as his wife had promised on the telephone. He did his best to put us off, and said "try the room first." In fact, we never got to see this cosy guest lobby of which the website spoke, and instead felt prisoners inside our room.
The cabin itself was very nice and well done, and after a phone call to the owner, we had hot water for our jacuzzi too. The next morning, we eagerly went over to the house in search of breakfast, only to be told we should have ordered that the day before too. The owner never made any intimation of this during our brief conversation the afternoon before, and how we could have guessed that it was necessary to make a pre-booking, we have no idea. I think it fair to say that we have never been treated with such utter indifference by the hosts of any establishment at which we've stayed. If they are so uninterested in their guests, why are they in this business? And as for the travellers' lounge, so beautifully advertised as a homely gathering place on their website, we saw only a porch with no chairs and a few leaflets. We certainly weren't welcome in the house.
We will certainly not be staying here again.

Room Tip: French Cabin was very nice

We sort of stumbled upon this hotel after a long day travelling from Jeruzalem, but the drive was really worth the while. The location of Chalet Nimrod Castle hostel is superb: on the top of a hill overlooking the Druze town down under. The cabins are simple but hopelessly romantic, with a jacuzzi in the bathroom and a balcony perfect for stargazing and late night book reading. Although there was a restaurant next door, the hostel was also very quiet at night (expect for the occasional barking dogs and wind howling through the cherry orchard). The breakfast we had in the morning from our host (Lilach) was homemade and delicious. Compared to the horrible chain hotel experience we've had in Jeruzalem, this hostel showed us what the true meaning of Jewish hospitality. Oh yes: you can also steal the cherries from the orchard. With Lilachs permission :)
