I have stayed in this hotel twice now two years in a row for its tranquil surroundings set back off the main hustle and bustle it has palm trees and beautify pools with amazing views across the sea.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and the staff make you feel so welcome including the wonderful manager Pim and Steve who couldn't help me enough!
Thanks everyone and I will be back.

We spent a week here and had a fantastic time. The mini villas at the front of the hotel are great and overlook the pool and the sea. The hotel is located in a quiet location off the main Chalong road. For some this is part of the appeal (it certainly was for us). For others, who want to be in the heart of things and don't want to hire a car or a bike, I would probably recommend staying somewhere else. Steve the manager was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble including sitting down with us for half an hour to help us plan what we we wanted to do. He also invited us to visit a fantastic school for very poor Burmese children which he personally supports. This was one of the highlights of our trip and we really enjoyed getting to experience a part of life in Phuket which we would otherwise not have even known about. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an authentic Thai guest house experience.

Room tip: Choose a sea front villa. Ideally one of the front two as they are right on the beach

We booked a "Seaview Villa", the most expensive category I could find online, for 5 nights. The bungalow we were given, number 102, was actually the 4th one back from the seafront. The view from the front of it was mostly the back of the restaurant and some garden. The view from the back was an unsightly, litter-strewn river mouth. The view from the side was the plain wall of the villa next door. Through the trees we could see a tiny bit of pool and and, just, an even tinier glimpse of the sea.

Also there were no bathrobes, as advertised only in the "Seaview Villa" description.

I questioned the staff on the reception desk whether we had been given the correct room type, since it appeared to match the description of "Garden Villa", not "Seaview Villa", and they told me we had. I also questioned a manager, Steve, and he told me that he believed the 2 villas on the sea front, those shown in the "Seaview Villa" photographs on the booking websites, were actually in a further separate category of "seafront villa" which doesn't appear on booking websites. He told me he would make a report to those responsible for the descriptions, but that didn't change the fact that we felt we had been misled by false advertising and charged more than we should have been for the room we were given.

A major problem with the room was that, rather ridiculously, there were no curtains on the windows either side of the bed. Hence the sunlight flooded in in the early hours of the morning and woke us up hours before we wanted to. We remedied this by buying drawing pins (thumb tacks) from a stationery store and pinning our pool towels to the window frames.

Other than this it's an old but OK resort. Breakfast is adequate but a bit limited. Fans of cheese or "full English" will be disappointed.

On a positive note the pools are very nice, the wifi worked, and the complementary golf-cart taxi to the main road is a nice touch.

Note that it is not usually possible to walk along the beach from this hotel to Chalong Pier (for boat trips etc.), unless the tide is very low. It's actually an excessively long walk by road and the journey cost us 150 Baht in a taxi.

Room tip: Don't bother spending extra for a Seaview Villa. We could barely see the sea or even pool from ours.

Pros: Nice pool and quite place.
Cons: So far from the main part of town, therefore spending so much money on transportation or missing to enjoy phuket, the beach is just harbor so it's blocked, insects inside room and bathroom, very expensive compared to its actual value, staff were so bad when we tried to decrease or cancel the booking and charged us for the whole period despite checking out after one night. eventually, we moved to a HOSTEL at phatong which was way better than this one.

Friendly staff, who were incredibly helpful. The grounds are gorgeous. While a bit out of the way, it means the hotel is quiet and away from the party party of other area. Restaurant is fab, affordable and tasty. The staff are very familiar with the local area and made great suggestions for local affordable meals. The two pools are gorgeous. The place is clean, yes there are some aspects that are worn and could do with updating but well worth the money.
