The street are up in the hills a short distance from the Port of Keelung. The street is several blocks long with shops and restaurants on both sides of the street. There is slight grade and the ground is uneven along the pathway. The shops sell local foods and goods. A good place to take pictures of the area below.

A very unique place. I could visit this place over and over. It's not only about what they sell at the shop, it's not only about the food, and it's not only about the great view. Because those things, you can find it all over Taiwan. But this place, it's about the authentic feelings once you step inside the old street. It feels nice walking in the dark alley brighten with lantern. The smell of the stinky tofu adds to the feels (LOL, but really!). Yeah most shops sell the same stuffs but its still nice to enter some of it that have a different way of displaying the things they sell.

Nice enough town built up side of steep hill. Stayed on a Saturday night and the food vendors are all closing by about 8pm. Quite a shock as we only went to eat about 7:30pm not realising this. Tourist shops were all selling the same stuff you can get in any market anywhere. In saying this it is a novelty for 1/2 an hour or so to walk up all the stairs; and you are rewarded with a lovely view. Happy to revisit but equally happy if we didn't. Surrounding countryside is nice.

Definitely a must go for anyone - food, scenery and things to buy. Everywhere is steep slopes and steps so must be careful. The streets are also narrow and quite confusing. But alot of local food and things to buy.

There is a shoe shop call Fu Fa near the entrance after walking pass the police station which sells quite affordable nice shoes. We bought 5 pairs from there - you can see our photo below.

Overall recommend trip for anyone. We took KLOOK day trip so we save time on transport.

This area that one shouldn't miss when in Taipei, food was so uniquely good and cheap, lining the narrow road are different types of food that you can only see in this area of Taipe, and at the end of the of the alley you will see the amazing view of the sea. Great food, great find, surely will miss this place.. and I hope I can visit this again in the future!
