First time I've tried a hotpot buffet in Taiwan, surprised me with the choice of non-hotpot food and drinks.
Each diner gets their own individual hotpot and can choose from a number of different soup bases. Then they just help themselves to a wide variety of hotpot ingredients as well as ready to eat food and drinks.
Popular hotpot items were fresh prawns, squid, lots of fish ball varieties, clams and thinly sliced beef. Cooked food included limited selection of sushi and Chinese dishes. My favourite was the desserts including cakes, ice lollies and unusual ice cream flavours which you only find in the Far East. Diners could help themselves to bottled Coke, Sprite and Chinese drinks as well as Yakult/other flavoured yoghurt drinks.
Overall very good value for the price (roughly £12 per person!), no one should leave hungry!
