Pleasant stay at the Cider Barrel as it is a cosy cottage with a nice view of rolling hills. The pictures don't really show that you actually share a wall with another cottage and are right near the large main farm house and B & B, so you're not very secluded at all. Maggie and her family are not very warm to be honest. It's quite obvious that they don't care what kind of time you have at their place (and actually find you staying a bit of an annoyance) as they seem to just want you in and out so that they make their money. The 4pm check in is quite late and £30 charge for towels I feel is a bit steep. We were also hurried out by our host when checking out - although we had packed our car ready to leave and were obviously already leaving, they insisted on coming to the door to tell us that the cleaner was ready to clean the apartment at 10:30am which we thought was a reasonable check out time as we could not find a time on the website or in our e-mail correspondence. Also one of our party left a sweater in the closet and has received no reply from them after offering to send a cheque to cover the postage of the sweater back to us. It's a nice cottage however due to the unwelcoming nature of the hosts I wouldn't return or recommend this cottage.
