I’ve been to different parts of Palawan but Port Barton offers a different charm of relaxation. Stayed in Ausan from Jan 17-21 and the place really do exceeded my expectations. The room was very nice and neat. The Staff was very helpful and accommodating. What I really love here is the food! So yummy and serves a generous amount. It’s the best accommodation at Port Barton. Will surely keep coming back here!

In my opinion the best choice for Port Barton , good locations, good room and with one of the best restaurant in the town. So what else ! Just in front of the beach where you can hear the waves at night from your room and nothing else.. ohh yeah!! and dongs.

From what we could tell, Ausan is probably one of the best accommodation options in Port Barton itself. While the little resort is a bit tired and could do things to improve, like have a shower or tap to wash off, when coming off the beach, at the price, one cannot complain. The staff are friendly, organized and helpful. Our room had air con, good hot shower.and a stunning sea view. The village and its animals wake up early, so there was a bit of noise each morning, but I would think that this would be the same at all accommodation options in the village.Next time Port Barton is on our itinerary, we will book at Ausan!

Due to being scammed by Jungle Bar property we extended our stay at this lovely accommodation and we could not praise them enough. You can book quirky and comfortable accommodation just off the beach and people working there are simply outstanding: smiley, courteous and professional. It is a busy place so it gets packed for their delicious & inexpensive dinners so you will likely need to wait for food but it is completely understandable. We were surprised by such a good prices for food and all drinks as well as how attentive and professional they were handling snorkeling, transport and early breakfast requests. Well done. Can totally recommend and would 100% stay there again!

We liked it here. The room and bathroom were very clean, the air-con although a little loud was very cooling and the lady behind the counter was amazingly helpfull. There is a clothes line for your clothes, the beds are a little hard but comfortable and there is plenty of room for your bags.
24 hour electricity and wifi in the common area although the signal is quite weak still.

We booked an island tour through them too and when I specified that I am vegetarian and do not eat oystersauce they must have repeated that 5 times and we had a wonderful meal to go with the trip. I will write a seperate review for the tour.

The downsides:
1. There is a smell wafting in from the back of the lot and it is not a good smell. A sweet, mildly rotting odour that comes and goes but gets stronger at night. The smell was not in the rooms luckily, but it did cost them 1 star from an otherwise 5 star review. When asked they said it was the coconuts drying somewhere on someone else’s lot. I think.
2. The aircon unit. We were in the stone building, room sd2, and the aircon leaks so much water that the little porch you have is flooded with water in the morning. So your shoes and everything you’ve left outside on the floor is soaking wet. If they fabricate a drainage pipe the problem would easily be solved.
Still I would recommend this place as it is very clean and they offer great service.

Oh about the service, the lady at the counter helped us book a tricycle to Roxas Port (for Modessa) for 700 pesos.
Tall hubby, me, two backpacks and two daypacks were a little cramped but it was a wonderful and safe ride which took 1.5 hours from Ausan straight to the Port. A van would have cost 2500!
