Spent an evening and night here with some friends. The hotel has been completely restored with excellent taste. The service was excellent from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. the Dinner was excellent as was the matching wine menu. Service friendly and professional. Absolutely worth a stay. The quality-price ratio was good. Certainly to be recommended..

This is a really lovely hotel. The rooms are clean and everything feels newly renovated. The location is really nice - on a beautiful lake, just a few minutes walk from the centre of town and the beach. We were able to borrow beach towels from the hotel, which was really handy. The breakfast is similar to other places we stayed in Denmark and seems to vary a bit - it was definitely nicer on our second morning there. Overall, Hotel Bretagne is a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it.

We stayed for one night at the Hotel Bretagne as we needed a base for a visit to the Rudolph Tegner Museum and Statue Park - Rudolph Tegner was my great uncle and we had come to see his creation for the first time as a part of our Golden Wedding celebration.
We travelled from Copenhagen and arrived early. We were given restful chairs in the lounge until our room was ready. What impressed us was how clean, quiet and very light the hotel is. The decor is most attractive and it has clearly undergone a lot of painstaking refurbishment.
We enjoyed our evening meal in the dining room that overlooks a wide expanse of grass and a lake and trees, and our breakfast the following morning before our return to Copenhagen.
We are a retired couple and I would certainly recommend the Hotel Bretagne to others in our age group looking for peace and quiet and good service.

Room tip: We were on the top floor and it was certainly very quiet.

My husband & I stayed here for 5 days when visiting family & friends. Convenient to the train, bus, etc. The hotel is charming with sitting rooms, decks, lake view, easy access to walking path around the lake, bikes for rent, ...I could go on & on. We are "seniors" & walked to the harbor & downtown several times. The weather was warm (for Denmark) when we were there & our room was on the 3rd floor so it got a bit warm, but with all the areas in the hotel it was never an issue. We never used the gym / spa. One of the highlights was the breakfast. Fresh breads, fruits, cold cuts, egg dishes, cereals, yogurts, juice, coffee, tea, waters infused with spearmint, lemon, etc. Too many things to list, but it was delicious. Pia was there bright & early with a smile, asking if everything was to our liking, offering us samples of, or asking what we thought of something she may try the next day or later in the week. She was friendly, a great reference for directions & what to do in the area, & a pleasure to talk with. Vicki, at the front desk, was also very helpful. One warm day we wanted to sit on the deck, but there was no shade...she went out of her way to get a huge umbrella that shaded several lounges, tables & chairs. Then she brought us a pitcher of ice water & glasses. Excellent customer service. Thank you. I would recommend staying here.

Exciting hotel. Small but really nice and charming room. Well-functioning bathroom. A little too impractical with hand soap on tube. Beautiful restaurant overlooking the lake. Fancy and different breakfast buffet. Home-baked bread, very fine decorated yougurt, salmon and small appetizing pans with fried eggs, bacon and sausage.
