This is probably the third time I've dined here - in a historic castle that also offers hotel accommodations.

Currently the kitchen is led by a former Chef of Noma, so the dining experience is both unique and spectacular. Our group of 5 ordered the 5 course meal (the only other offering was 7) and we had more than enough to satisfy. We also ordered the wine pairings as well as a bottle of champagne to accompany the starters. We were surprised that we received 5 starters or "tastes" in addition to the 5 course menu, as well as an additional sweet at the end of the meal. Needless to say, there is no reason to order the 7 courses unless you are famished or have some amazing self control and can stop after a bite.

The price for 4 with wine and one without was just under $1,000 US including that extra bottle of champagne.

The fresh herbs and vegetables were outstanding. The combinations were well thought out and screamed of freshness. Some items were uncommon and may not be appreciated by all.

While delicious, there was too much food! Also the starters were served very closely together while the 5 courses were much slower. We spent 3.5 hours dining.

We have lunched several times at the Spisehuset, which serve very tasty food made of high quality local produce. The food is always deliciously arranged and the service is friendly and considerate. Great ambience too.

We had a party with around 30 people where we had dinner at Dragsholm. We had our own room for drinks and dinner + a small balcony overlooking the beautiful garden. During dinner, the guest could help themselves to soft drinks while the wine was served with a description of it. The food looked very appealing and was quite fine, but not as good as at some of the gourmet restaurants that we have tried in Denmark. The biggest assest of the place is the surroundings - a beautiful place with lots of history.
