Definitely worth a stay

Review of Greenhoose
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 28 Mar 2024
Absolutely loved everything about this quaint place, the friendly and knowledgeable hosts, the camaraderie around the open fire in the evenings, where you can meet other travellers. The accommodation is a little dated and tired and could do with some renovations but it serves its purpose and provided us with much needed shelter on a rainy day.

Thank you very much for your review Shezzle.

We love to share our knowledge with visitors and provide a rainforest escape from the normal, daily grind. This wet season has enabled us to refurbish 7 rooms thus far and last week we commenced works on a further 4. A coat of paint, fresh, crisp new linen, local indigenous artworks and home comforts have enhanced our accommodation offering. We do hope we can welcome you back to Greenhoose.

Had a fab stay in this delightful and charming accomodation, our hosts were super friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, we self catered which was pretty easy to do. Can highly recommend. Can’t wait to return to see the new cafe in action. Thank you I for a memorable stay.

We stayed I night in a double ensuite room. The room is very compact but has the essentials - comfortable double bed, extra pillows, good shower, small fridge. A covered verandah includes lounge chairs and a dining table and chairs. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner was available - a set meal at 6.30 pm in a common outdoor dining area that facilitated mingling with other guests. We were fortunate to be there for lamb shank night - it was delicious. We used the outdoor dining area to prepare our own breakfast and lunch. It’s a lovely spot for a short stay.

Thank you for your review Lindsay. We're currently refurbishing the accommodation to make it even comfier :-). The lamb shanks are still a hit with guests and probably the favourite. We hope to welcome you back one day.

We stayed at The Greenhoose on our 12 day Safari Tour with Far North Escapes on our way to The Tip. Great setting in the Rainforest, bush turkey roaming around, a lovely fire pit to sit around and sip a wine have a yarn. We had our own food, but equally The Greenhoose does do meals. Lyn and Stewie had many a tale to tell, they were convivial and so willing to chat, telling us many a story about the area and the fauna all around. One point to mention, they have laundry facilities available, well appreciated after many a day travelling. The Greenhoose was by far my favourite accommodation. Comfy beds, clean cool room and en suite too.

Thank you so much for your review Coops240. We know people appreciate the creature comforts at Greenhoose after roughing it in the wild. Lynn and Stu have the best yarns on the Cape and their knowledge is amazing. We are refurbishing our rooms at present so expect an even better stay should you venture back to our neck of the woods.

We stayed one night at The Greenhoose as a welcome break during a week in Iron Range National Park. The facilities were really good particularly the washing machine and kitchen. The rooms were comfortable and it was lovely to have a hot shower. The other bonus was the garden which we spent hours in finding a couple of species we had trouble tracking down in the National park. The staff were also really friendly and knowledgeable.

Thank you for your review. We pride ourselves on what we have to offer at Greenhoose and an added bonus is being located in the rainforest with so much wildlife on our doorstep, literally. Who doesn't love a hot shower after a day out in the range...

Sophie and Mick the hosts were fantastic, up for a chat always to help you find out about all the places to expore and experience in this wilderness environment. Cabins were small but balconies where we spent most of the time with fellow guests were wide and inviting. The gardens and cabins were set amongst the rainforest allowing the wildlife to come to us. Cabins 3* Balconies 5* Siting and gardens 5*+ but the tipping point was the cafe with take away food at great prices for guests and locals. WQell done 5+.
