“Stunning apartment perched over the Siagne River valley near Cannes in charming midieval village St-Cézaire-sur-Siagne”
I have traveled all over the world, stayed at many a historic sight, and this is one of my all-time favorites. In the small village of Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne, inland and up from Cannes (about 40 minutes away), there is a row of historic homes, built right on the cliffs, overlooking the watershed-protected valley of the Siagne river. La Casette is one of these homes, with balconies overlooking the valley. To the right, the alps, to the left, the Mediterranean, with sunsets over the Alps in the evenings. Market days are Wednesday and Saturday, to which St-Cézaire's inhabitants come to socialize at one of several cafés, or sit to chat around the village's water fountain. This apartment was perfect for our visit - a week-long stay, eating locally, visiting the nearby small villages. The main room is spacious with stunning views over the valley. Although not deluxe or sumptuous by American standards, I could not have wished for a more pleasant, beautiful, relaxing home base. I recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to spend some real time getting to know the real charms of southeastern France.
