I took a group of freedivers up to the lake over Easter for our freediving "boot camp". The lake has a maximum depth of around 66m and with no motorised water sports allowed it provides a safe, deep place for us to train. We had the lake almost to ourselves, with everyone else staying close to the steps leaving us to train in the centre. The vis is not amazing, but when you're line diving meh, who cares.

Visited Lake Eachem as part of the Barefoot Tours of the Tablelands. The lake is located in the crater of a long extinct volcano. Car park and BBQ facilities are provided, swimming was great and lots of other people were kayaking and paddle boarding.

One of my favourite spots on the Atherton Tablelands so I took my school friend to share with her, a perfect lake if you just want to sit and take in the scenery or you can take a swim, barbeques line the shore of the lake and also up higher if you so desire. Lots of fish and turtles enjoying their habitat. Make sure you include this on your Tableland tour allow yourself some time to take in the serenity of the location (pack a bbq picnic lunch) you won't be disappointed.

A wonderful lake whether sitting by the shores relaxing or plunging in to escape the heat. Well located neat Chambers Lodges, Crater Lakes cottages and Yungaburra, it is so accessible. Great place for a picnic.
I asked a couple of international visitors just getting out of the water how it was, they said a bit cold but refreshing.
It was actually quite warm, a beautiful place to swim and relax.
