We just finished a vacation rental at Weir House at Bruern Cottages. We stayed with one other family - so a total of 4 adults and 5 young kids (aged 2-7). The setup worked perfectly, with two separate accommodation areas (one wing with 3 beds and then the upstairs with 2 beds). The living space is open plan - a huge kitchen diner, separate TV room (with a TV that must be 70 inches plus) and then a super comfy living area with large open fire. The house is so well set up for kids, with great little touches - high chairs, kids plates, stools for kids to reach basins, toys, dress up, a little play area under the stairs etc. There is also a big garden, play room and pool / gym area to keep everyone amused. Location is great also - within striking distance of some great sights and some great gastro pubs. It's more expensive than the average vacation rental - but worth it considering what you get (including the champagne and top quality bacon and sausages they leave for breakfast!).

We visited from Canada to have a holiday with our son and the grand children. Bruern Cottages was the perfect solution. We were extremely well looked after and all three generations had a wonderful time. Many thanks.
My husband and I were guests of a family who had booked to stay in Weir house one of the cottages on offer at Bruern. Our time spent there was lovely, a beautiful setting with wonderfully kept gardens and surrounding areas and superb facilities including gym, in and outdoor pool, games room and many other fantastic things to do. All the staff were extremely courteous, friendly and more than happy to help with anything we needed and nothing was too much trouble, especially the girls in reception, Emma friendly and extremely helpful. Lydia extremely helpful and very polite assisting us with Caterers, taxis and train times, which came in very handy as we spent a wonderful day out in the beautiful Oxford which is only a short train ride away, 25 minutes I remember rightly. We also were informed about the spa treatments which sounded super but we just didn't have the time to fit it all in.
Upon arrival we received a welcome basket full of goodies which was delicious although not to keen on the ice cream but that's just me. What a fantastically beautiful place and a truly fabulous stay we had and I will most certainly be recommending Bruern to my friends and family who enjoy the finer things in life.

Our family of 9 stayed in Weir House for three days and had a great time. House and gardens are truly beautiful, all set within the well maintained Bruen cottages complex. The house is huge and has plenty of Cotswolds charm. Loads of space for a large family but no shortage of luxury. We had three young children with us and they loved the toys and dress up clothes provided on tap by Bruen; the adults equally loved the welcome hamper of local food, a fantastic homemade cake and two bottles of bubbly. Bruen might want to upgrade the Wifi as it is a bit weak, but we certainly didn't go there for that! You really can't go wrong with a short (or long) stay at a Weir House/Bruen - a perfect spot close to all the main spots in the lovely Cotswolds.
We booked Weir House for a family celebration for my husbands 60th. It was ideal for the entire family. The accommodation was excellent and we were delighted with the proximity to Kingham station which made collecting visitors from London very easy. We cooked each night and the kitchen was extremely well equipped- An additional drinks fridge plus 2 side by side dishwashers made catering for larger numbers very easy. Swimming pool was very good and although we didn't use it, the gym looked good too.
Our Grandchildren loved all the toys and dressing up clothes. Only issues were some maintenance issues with 2 of the bathrooms which should have been reported by prior guests. Staff were very helpful. Log fire in the living room was very cosy. I have no hesitation in recommending Bruern.
