“Oustanding value, superb accommodation, great hot tub”
Reviewed 16 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

My family and I stayed here for a visit from Canada, with some family who still live in the UK.

The accommodation is superb, the amenities are luxurious and extremely well kept. The kitchen has everything you need, bar food. The beds were comfortable and sleep came so easily as its so quiet in Talland Bay.

I have only two aspects that grated; the hob and the shower in the master. The hob was electric and while not a deal breaker, it did seem to take along time to come up to heat. However, once hot enough, cooking wasn't slow. It may be a personal preference (I hate electric hobs), but t did cause frustration when we wanted to cook quickly. The shower in the master, while in of itself lovely, didn't have a splash guard against water seeping out o to the floor - so that became soaked very quickly.

Of the area, be warned, if you are uncomfortable about driving on single track country lanes, do not book here. You will have to drive up and down country lanes to get here. That said, I felt it added to the charm and 'get away from it all' experience. My wife's white knuckles may have told a different story tho'.

Lastly, I cannot praise the centre staff enough - courteous, helpful, unfailingly polite, and very quick with an excellent suggestion for a stunning Sunday roast (Finnygook Inn - try it, its amazing!!!)

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for such a lovely review of your stay!

We really do appreciate any feedback on the properties and will be sure to pass these observations on to the home owner.

The country lane leading to the site certainly is an adventure for some, and most of our guests become experts in reversing within a few days!!

We agree that the Finnygook Sunday lunches are really quite tasty!

We hope to welcome back to The Bay at some point in the future,

Kindest Regards

The Bay Team!

“Utterly outstanding apartment, loved every minute”

We can't speak highly enough of the Bay Talland. We stayed a fortnight in property #1 and it truly was a 5* experience.
Firstly, the location - right by the coastal path with stunning views over to Looe and Polperro, plus a lovely walk/run in either direction taking you either to the beach or the town. Also neighbouring an ancient and well-maintained church, and well-placed to visit places along that stretch of the coast.
Secondly, the facilities. The apartment itself was huge, full of modern decor and fittings - the kitchen was better-equipped than our one at home! There were games and DVDs already there, plus beach gear, plus practical things for the kids, such as travel cot, high chair, etc. The bathrooms were impeccable, and a rainforest shower is always a welcome bonus!
There is also a perfectly decent (albeit small) gym at the site, and a great indoor swimming pool which kept the kids amused when they thought the sea was too cold. Even reception is full of kids toys (and a PlayStation), so my little boy was always amused when I thought I needed to sweat in the gym for 45 minutes or so!
Thirdly, the staff. Everyone from reception to cleaning to maintenance were friendly, well turned-out and helpful. This pervaded the whole atmosphere of the place - classy, clean without being too 'Truman Show', and just totally relaxing.

Next time we come back to Cornwall, we will stay here, without a shadow of a doubt. Brilliant.

We couldn't agree more that the views over the bay from the site are just beautiful.
