Stayed here as part of a walking group.
Lovely grounds and stone buildings with rooms around courtyards.
Food was good .
Helpful friendly staff.
Largish swimming pool was a bit green but enjoyable.
Wifi coverage good and fast.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable but a bit dampish in October after rain; hot water limited had to wait for reheating after 1 shower.
Would be great place to chill out in warmer weather but 20mins walk away from Supersano which itself doesnt offer much for the visitor.

To be clear - I stayed at this hotel for a week in October on a group cookery holiday run by a UK company called Authentic Adventures. My overall rating for that holiday would have been terrible, but I am not reviewing that ( message me re Auth Adventures), I am reviewing the hotel, so the rating is poor. It looks lovely from the outside and the grounds are very pleasant. However, the hotel rooms are not boutique hotel standard either in their fixtures and fittings, in the way they are equipped or with regards to house keeping standards. My only external window - unless I kept the door open - was missing its glass and blocked up with cardboard, the floors are untreated and very damp by October - a newspaper left on the floor overnight crinkled completely! No available heating. Peach tiles, an old fashioned water heater and not enough room to open the door in the bathroom do not make a boutique hotel bathroom. I could go on - excessive quantities dead insects on the floor not cleaned up... Food very average indeed compared to the food eaten elsewhere in the region, the breakfast being especially lack lustre. In a very isolated setting. For information, although not a criticism as such, very little English spoken which can be challenging at times and service on the reception desk often lacked warmth. Limited comfy seating in the cold bar at night, not convivial at all. So disappointing, do not be deceived by the photographs. Drinks service in the bar totally hit and miss, you never sign for drinks - they supposedly work out who you are from your passport photo and then invent a bill for you at the end of the holiday!!

We are a young couple and decided to treat ourselves to a luxury hotel...we imagined that the price (180 euros a night for a superior room in August) would mean a big, modern room with all the mod cons.
Well, we arrived on a hot, sweltering afternoon and we were shown our "superior" room (no welcome drink) and we felt like crying: it was a family room (so with beds we were never going to use), with only water in the mini bar, 2 empty vases, no kettle, limited hot water in the shower and virtually no interior design. It looked and felt like a chalet..for 180 euro a night.
We asked to be changed to a "standard" room, which was 30 euro cheaper and we got placed in a smaller, but similarly styled room with fewer beds (at least!).
That said, the grounds and the facilities outside the rooms were truly PERFECT! It is a shame that the rooms are not up to the same very high standard. The pool was super clean and divine! The grounds were well-kept and a joy.
Beware: if you do not order lunch in the morning, there is nothing to eat before dinner (if youve ordered that!) so dont assume you will be able to get food at any time (no staff in the kitchen during the day!).
There is only skeleton staff outside of breakfast and dinner times.

We had dinner there twice and the food was very basic for 25 euro a head, but was good quality, with house wine & water included in that price. However, we were offered a limoncello after dinner and that was added on top of the 25 euro, despite having been offered it and everything else being included in the price...At dinner, the owners stayed to talk to the guests. This was weird because on both nights the owners assumed we didnt speak Italian (we both speak fluently) so ignored us for the duration of both meals, despite talking (super loudly) to every table around us..so strange. We felt invisible. I imagine its the same for anyone that doesn't speak Italian, who dines there. We were also rushed through dinner at a great speed. They like to try and sychronise all the tables so if you arrive after everyone else, you're rushed thru, which defeats the relaxation part of dining. I had the impression the staff just wanted to get off home. Breakfast is pastries galore, with only scrambled egg (no rolls) as savoury. Fresh fruit was there though so that was a nice touch.
We wouldnt stay there again as the price is too high for the actual facilities in general. The rooms to our minds are only a 2 star standard, whereas the pool and grounds are truly 4 star. This disparity is surprising and a shame as it could so easily be corrected.
Considering how much money we spent, we feel somewhat ripped off and we wouldn't stay there again for that price. The out of season price of around 80 euros total a night (for a standard double room ) seems fairer and closer to how much one should pay for the current standard of the rooms.

Room tip: Dont take the Superior room unless you are a family because "superior" is just a code name for "family room" and the services/comfort does not improve with the extra money.

We got married in Puglia and found Masseria Pizzofalcone online. We didn't visit before the wedding and basically went on the photos. The organisation of the wedding was a breeze. The local hospitality co-ordinator, Maurizio, helped us liaise with the hotel, organise menus, wine tours, day trips and all our paperwork with the town hall in Supersano. The place itself is just stunning. I've travelled a lot, and to be so amazed by somewhere is rare. The building is beautifully restored, keeping all it's charm but having all mod cons. The rooms are huge. There's a gorgeous swimming pool and hot tub and even a chapel. The wedding itself exceeded all expectations. A few days before they cooked us a sample of the menu and we knew we were in for a treat. All in all the menu was about 10 courses, including cake by the pool. They are used to catering for weddings and very organised.

The hotel is rural, but that's it's charm. It's very Italian and the only English speaker on hand was Claudia. Still it was absolutely fine and not a problem. The location is half way between the Ionian and Adriatic seas which both have beautiful coastlines. There's lots to do but it's actually quite difficult to drag yourself away.
