Having our "pied a terre" in, we are always searching for different culinary experiences and somehow when surfing the internet we came across this restaurant, located right n the heart of the old village of Ventabren. Ample car parking close by and just a short stroll through the narrow streets of the village brings you to this intimate restaurant with, depending on the weather indoor and alfresco dining. The interior of the restaurant is quite contemporary with an interesting mix of old and new....even a visit to the restrooms is recommended....our compliments to the ID consultants behind this renovation! Indirect and table lighting is perfect just creating the right ambience. There are views direction the Mediterranee and there is even an open kitchen (quite rare in France) allowing you to enjoy looking at the kitchen brigade preparing your food. The menu has the option for a la carte and a selection of set menus. In the end, due to dietary limitations we selected a variety of a la carte dishes. Food taste of all dishes, including the amuse bouche, was exquisite, presentation probably the best we came across so far around Aix en Provence and that all with very friendly and attentive service. The wine list is extensive and we enjoyed a bottle of local rose, bearing all the characteristics of the wines of this region. After consuming some great desserts we were tempted to try one of the three available Rhums, and also that was a great experience. Altogether an amazing culinary experience at great value for money and definitely for us a place to return and a must visit for those looking after a culinary highlight close to Aix en Provence....definitely worth the drive to and from Ventabren

We last ate 2 years ago at this truly fabulous terrace restaurant when it had quirky, provencal-meets-modern-bohemian furniture... Since then Dan has bought and transformed this stunning eerie into the super-sophisticated, ultra comfortable & modern. Lovely attentive service... not all fully trained! The view towards and over Marseille is breathtaking. The Michelin-starred chef has remained and he is now creating even more amazing food. Every dish took our breath for its look and taste... We chose the Bois set menu at €72... Every morsel was outstanding with the scallops ranking as one of the best dishes we have ever eaten. Treat yourself to a very good wine... it's worth it!!!

There are restaurants that serve excellent and then there are restaurant that do everything right. This is one of those exceptional places. A 7-star restaurant. And yes, you will pay 7 star prices but you'll walk out with a smile :)

We stumbled upon this place thanks to our french friend. You park afar and walk. On a warm May day, that was part of the experience. The restaurant contrasts strongly with its surroundings. It's set in the old village of Ventabren just west of Aix.

Unforgettable view on the side of a mountain. The most beautiful restroom at any restaurant in the world (think cave carved into a mountain). Friendly and a little too efficient service (a little dry to serious). We had wine and a cheese platter which were both excellent. You also get a lot of extras that you didn't order including bread, tea and small bites. You may add the word amazing before everything I mentioned here. Just go if you can afford it.
