“Fantastic!”
Reviewed 25 December 2015 for a stay in December 2015

A lovely cottage with everything you could need.
The owners had left us a delicious cake, and a bottle of milk to welcome us. Which was so thoughtful.
The kitchen is very well equipped, I did loads of cooking and baking during our stay. (Luckily there is a dishwasher to help with clean up!)
The bedrooms are good sizes, both with TVs and very cosy duvets. Lots of cupboard space to put luggage.
The cottage is beautifully decorated, and the coal fire is great. Central heating kept us warm.
If you want to venture out, there is a pub next door and lots of country walks which start from the village.
It is well located for exploring Dumfries and the Solway. We will definitely be staying again, looking forward to another visit, and already recommended to our friends. :D

“What a find!fabulous! ”
Reviewed 23 November 2015 for a stay in November 2015

This cottage is absolutely wonderful. It's is refurbished to an extremely high standard with a king size bed in the main room and a very nice wet room. We stayed here for my husbands birthday with our 2 small children and the owner Allan could not have done more. He arranged for a high chair and bed guards to be there for us, and he even provided a beautiful chocolate cake and milk for our arrival! The cottage is across the road from the local shop and beside the local pub so it is perfectly located. We were able to drive easily to the many sights nearby and Allan kindly recommended the steamboat at caresthorn for food which was lovely. We were able to relax in front of the open coal fire and it really was like and home away from home. I can't recommend Allan or this cottage highly enough. I am so looking forward to going back in the summer!
