The hike to Edakkal caves is not the most challenging. Well built steps and roads are all along the route to the top. Shops selling food / mementos etc. are omnipresent. Once you reach the top, you will realize that the caves dont look spectacular! Visit this place only if you have ran out of options in the nearby.

Its is good tourist spot. Lot of food shops on the way to caves. Car parking to ticket counter trekking is tough esp. with kids. must see place in wayanad.

The caves are a bit far from the parking Lot. One has to walk 3 kms to reach the ticket Counter. The walk is a bit tough as it is very steep climb.
After the counter one has to climb the stairs which is steep as Well, to reach the caves.

NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH HEALTH ISSUES.
