My husband and I stayed in this 2-bedroom cottage near Bratton Fleming for a week in May, but we knew it as BUTTON BARN, not Station Barn! And the property manager was also different! The owner, Mrs Potter, who lives in the adjoining farmhouse, was very pleasant and helpful.
We found the cottage to be quiet and peaceful, with lovely views over woods and fields. The paint was fresh, and the cottage clean. It wasn't cluttered, but had various sheepy ornaments and pictures which was a nice touch as the barn was on a sheep farm. The bed was really comfy, and we both slept well. The cottage was well-equipped, and we had plenty of hot water. We needed very little heating, as the weather was good.
We enjoyed walks, the Lynton and Barnstaple steam railway, Arlington Court (carriage museum and lovely gardens), Wistlandpound reservoir - all close to the cottage; & further afield, several garden centres, RHS Rosemoor, walks on Braunton Burrows, Heddon Valley, Hartland Point and Hartland Quay.
We definitely intend to return!
