We were really pleased with the simple but modern design and cleanliness of the rooms and common area. Unfortunately, beds turned out not to be that comfy - we could feel the spring of the mattresses.

The lodge is located on a quiet dirt road, very close to the South entrance of Wilpattu National Park. It's very quiet, which is great as well.

Note that safaris are way overpriced at the premises! We would advise to book a driver on your side. Just go to a shop nearby and ask if they know a driver. It's what we did and instead of paying $200 for half a day for 5 people, we paid about $120 for a full day! (note that 2 of us are locals so entrance fees are cheaper for us). Plus the driver will be better paid as they won't have to pay a commission to the lodge so it's fairer for everybody.

Welcome was a bit odd, the young person who welcomed us was not the friendliest. We were 5 and few days before, before making the reservation, I called to ask if it was possible to have a triple room or an extra bed added in a double bed room (which are pretty large) and was assured it would be done. On the arrival day, they seemed surprised of our request and bit reluctant. By the way, I'm not sure the triple room with the pool is still available as we were not offered this one and were the only one in the lodges at this time. I would advise to double check with them if you really want this one. However, we have to mention Claude, who was there on our second and last day and who was the nicest and warmest person and who really cared about hospitality. Kudos to him!

Food was fine. We had both dinners there and it was tasty and diversified. The packed breakfasts we took with us for the safari were not that nice though.

Room Tip: If you want to have access to the pool shown on the pictures, make sure the triple room is available

We stayed 2 nights at wild wadi willapatu. The hospitality was par excellence. Claude, the cook, made our trip super special. His food was amazing, his attentiveness to all our needs on point. The safari was comfortable. All in all a superb place for a family vacation. The entire team was commendable and hospitable.

Staff is very friendly and organises safaris to Wilpattu National Park - Park is only a few minutes away
Food was very tasty (breakfast/lunch/dinner)
Bungalow is next to the jungle with monkeys visiting the garden

the surrounding of the bungalows is not finished jet.
It's a bit isolated, not much to do/see besides the National Park

We had a great stay and a very interesting safari but all was wasted when we had food poisoning. Another couple was there and they were also sick. So I cant recommend this place because we were sick for several days after that and it ruin our holidays.
Also there is no wifi.

This was not a good choice. The monsoon had started and the entry to the rooms was slippy thick mud. The area was infested with mosquitoes.
On a positive note the room and plunge pool were lovely.
But the food was terribly overpriced. Also at the moment we were about to eat we were told that the menu choice we had made was unavailable. We chose at 10.00am and dinner was at 7.30pm. A poor substitute was provided. The kitchen was unclean and the sink was filthy. We had booked for 3 nights but could only stay for one.
