I've just got back from 7 days here. The good things room really clean domestic staff brilliant The not so good food at a poor standard with not a lot of choice also cold at breakfast . I would not of rated this 4 star and transport a must in this hotel.

Very friendly and helpful staff lovely surroundings with amazing views and clean air conditioned rooms. Will certainly be returning there again.

Direct transfer from faro airport took 45mins and the beach and row of shops and restaurants are a 20min taxi ride which staff were more than happy to book.

All inclusive took out the hassle of paying for meals or drinks (selected ones were covered) with breakfast and dinner a buffet style and set menu for lunch.

We had been upgraded to a junior suite, so having the luxury of a kitchen meant we were able to walk to the local shop and pick up food for lunches for the duration.

-friendly staff
-decent facilities
-great views
-good value for money
-wifi excellent all around hotel especially in hotel room.

- the buffet is like what you would expect a school dinner to look like

- they advertise the river shuttle in brochure to take you to Portimao, but when booking the receptionist told us that it infact goes to the other resort.

- taxi very hit and miss, sometimes we managed to get one and othertimes barely frequent so I'd strongly reccommend a car hire.

- very poor entertainment in the evening, so if this is the style of holiday you are looking for I'd avoid this resort.

We went for a 4 day stay at Riverside. From the moment of our arrival the staff couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. They helped with every enquiry and in the last day even found us a day room to use as our flight was in the evening. The restaurant staff were super friendly and looked after us very well, remembering who we were and bringing us our usual drinks almost before we asked. We had a great room. The hotel was lovely and clean. The location was perfect as it was away from all the chaos of the Algarve but close enough to everything - 30 mins walk to Portimao, small supermarket, cash point and little cafes writhing a few minutes walk, and a short cheap taxi ride to Portimao and Praia da Rocha. The pool area is beautiful with an infinity pool overlooking the River, it is all lit up in the evening and very relaxing. My teenage daughters loved it. We did half board and the food was varied and very nice - typically Portuguese but with enough variety for all tastes. We didn't use the gym area or spa but there were plenty of deals advertised for treatments at the spa. Really recommend this hotel for an enjoyable and relaxing stay where you feel the staff cares about you. Finally it was very reasonably priced in every way - rooms and the restaurant too.

The hotel itself was brilliant with the staff being helpful and friendly in particular Carla on main reception. The facility's were as described. I couldnt really fault the hotel.
The location of the hotel is a little out of the way so be prepared to use the taxi service.
Top tip- ask for a receipt from the taxi driver stops them trying it on (you should be on tariff 3 on a normal day)
If you decide to go to slide and splash water park buy the tickets from the local supermarket at the end of the road they are 10% cheaper than on the gate!!!
We booked the boat trip from the hotel and did the sea caves which is great value for money and definitely worth the 30 euros.
