We’ve done two great trips with ‘Phuket Free Day Tours’ that seem to be facilitators for local tour operators. Summarizing that both trips lived up to full expectations. Since we stayed in areas outside their free service pick-up areas (Patong, Karon, Kata), we drove ourselves to the respective piers with our rental car. Communication to make arrangements been easy, but in both circumstances, we had to add 300B pp for national park fees, raising doubt as for whether it is worthwhile to book via Groupon – as we have done, or simply book a discounted tour here that includes such fees.

To the actual journey:

The ‘James Bond Island Trip’ to Phang Nga Bay fully delivered in every aspect… great stops and activities, a reasonable & plentiful lunch buffet, plus a tour guide that understood to connect to guests... guaranteeing a fun-filled day!

As such, for the price we paid, zero complaints plus full endorsement for a trip that reflected fair value & beyond!

I had a great experience with Phuket Free Day Tours. Bank was very accomodating, I booked 3 tours with him and airport transfers, bank put together my itinerary the following day detail by detail that made my trip stress free.
Drivers showed up on time (sometimes things like lagging guests can cause driver to be late) be mindful to respect pick up times. Most drivers didn't speak English but that was ok not very big on speaking English in Thailand.
Everyone of our tour guides spoke and understood English quite well, not the deck hands thou but they were always accommodating and being sure our trip was comfortable.

Reading previous reviews about crowded boats and islands YES very over crowded, if that's not your scene there are plenty other quieter islands to see.

I do recommend bringing a poncho if you don't like getting wet on the boat & those wet travel bags that keep your items dry are a good buy as you jump in and out of boat and things can get wet.

All in all had a great experience with Phuket Free Day

Did the 3 Island Tour as a groupon deal. The weather at the beginning of the day didn't look too promising but thought surely if it was going to be that bad we wouldn't continue on the tour. Boy were we wrong. Firstly, our driver was an hour late due to having an accident on the way to picking us up. It was not a surprise he had an accident with the way he drove. Not once have I ever had motion sickness from driving but this was the beginning to a horrible day. Bloke must've though he was a race car drive, so scary.

Then we began the journey, the ride on the way there was slightly bumpy but it was completely bearable. Then we got to Maya Bay. The tide was so rough that the boats were hardly staying in place on the shore and everyone when re-boarding the boat it was nearly impossible with it drifting back an forth. Maya beach was also packed and completely unenjoyable.

We then made our way to monkey beach where we didn't get off because the tide was too high, which was fine. After this we went to a lagoon to swim which was really nice, the water was wonderful. This was when the water took a turn and wow oh wow was the water rough, but after getting away from the islands it was much better. We then went snorkelling but the water was so rough that you didn't even have to swim to drift far far away from the boat.

We eventually made it to lunch, and afterwards we were supposed to make our way to the final island. Well, the weather picked up as did the ocean. The waves were horrific, most were at least 3 meter but some were up to 5, it was terrifying. We all asked to go straight back to shore, which ended up being a 2 hour trip because it was that rough! 50% of the boat was throwing up, kids were crying and the rest of us were highly distressed. At some points I didn't think we were going to make it and can't even look at the ocean anymore without being scared.

The fact that we were taken out on a day with bad weather was appalling, safety of customers should come first. This experience completely ruined my holiday and if I ever return to Phuket I will never ever think about booking a boat tour. Everyone on the tour was left questioning how a company could even take people out in those conditions. Highly disappointing.

We had booked the half day 3 Khai Island Tour. With no explanation, the day we had booked was cancelled and we were put on the next day,s tour. We were the only Europeans on a boat full of Japanese with no one speaking English. We had no idea what was going on . This all made me feel very uncomfortable and was not what I expected at all.
We had also booked a car to take us to the airport. It never turned up !!
Am not impressed with this company and would not recommend them at all. A disaster.

We did the 3 island tour with vouchers purchased on Groupon.Booking was easy via email, and we received prompt replies and confirmation.

The pick up van arrived onto and although the boat was supposed too depart from the pier at 9am, we did not board the boat until 9:50. Food, drink and travel sick tablets were available free of charge. You could hire flippers here too.We had to pay the THB 300 / adult and THB 100 / child in cash here.

The boat ride was extremely crowded, far too many people were on that boat. Life jackets were provided. We went to Phi Phi where there were so many people and boats in such a small place. I was very disappointed that we had to pay national park fees and there was so much rubbish on the beach and in the water. We had about 50 minutes on Phi Phi. The other two island were nice and lunch was fine.

While we did have a good day, the overcrowding on the boat was a safety concern and made for a very uncomfortable trip. Due to the late departure, the time on each island was rush rushed (we spend about 50 mins on each island).
