This is a case of ‘another market’. The stalls are the same as out on the street, the only difference being they are within the temple grounds. You don’t get hassled like you do on the street but you can still barter...a bit. My daughter did buy a few trinket presents for friends but that was about it. There are plenty of food stalls if you feel like tasting some of the local food - and it is delicious. If you are in Karon definitely go but don’t expect anything too different from anywhere else.

Not the huge selection, but enough variety for a good shop for 'copy goods', and great food. Easy to wander around. Quite hot in July, so go after sundown for an easier time

Great markets, lots of local yummy food on entry, walk thru without the hassle, friendly and a lot of stalls to get that last minute prezzie.

We have been going to this market when we come to Phuket for around 5 years now. This year we were disappointed. While there was plenty of food stalls there wasn't as much variety as before. The clothing and tourist tat was the same as is available at the Patong markets - and cost more. We bought a couple of spring rolls and grilled sausages, had a wander around, then left.
What this market really needs is some stools to sit on while you eat.
Karon Temple Markets is worth a visit if you're in the area.
You can go into the Temple - we've been before and it's quite lovely.

The best part for me is of course the food. You can buy a takeaway box of teriyaki chicken with steamed rice, some salad for 50 Thai Baht. Plus, the watermelon shake which made with fresh watermelon. So refreshing. It is not a huge market, but it has what I wanted. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
