“Large villa, historic tower, ideal for groups”
Reviewed 6 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

This was quite a positive experience - lovely house with very large rooms, including the bathrooms - which isn't always the case. The grounds here are fantastic, a private feel and many lovely touches. We even had a small wedding ceremony under the pergola on one of the terraces. The medieval tower is special ... really unique and unlike anything you'll get at another property. At the end of a long, bumpy access lane is a remote-controlled gate that makes the place private. Location is good if you like being away from the crowds, yet near a small town that had a basic market, and various other little towns with surprisingly good restaurants. Location also puts you an easy 10-15 minute drive down the hill into center city Florence. A good base for exploring - lovely Siena is a bit more than an hour's drive, and there are countless wineries below Florence. WiFi at the villa was poor, but all else was very good. The owner and local caretaker are easy to work with ... this is a solid choice for a Tuscany rental that can handle a big group of visitors. Very highly recommended.
