The resort is beautifully set, amidst greenery. The resort buildings are aesthetically designed with minimal disturbance to the topography. Each of the rooms/suites has balcony that opens towards valley and hills. Premium rooms are the best pick. The room was cleaned daily and the toilet was pretty clean with running hot water. But the lift works only to level 3 and the rest of the climbs need to be climbed. It is worth to take the pain. There is a dance floor that gets active around 7.30 at night with very loud music and guests dancing. We found it a little annoying but there were people enjoying. The resort has a tower at the top from where we can enjoy a bird's view of the scenery around. There is a trekking path from the hotel to the Lansdowne market. This is an exciting option for those who love to walk or trek. But there are no signages on the way and you may find yourself lost after walking for some time, but we pushed forward till we reached the road. It was quite exciting, a bit adventurous and above all memorable. Only tea/coffee etc are served in the room; for the rest guests need to come down to the restaurant. The buffet spread for breakfast was better than the dinner. The front office staff could work on their hospitality skills, but the staff in the restaurant are quite polite. The resort does not have ample space for parking; they somehow manage with the existing space. The guests need to hand over the key at the reception so that they can move the vehicle up and down as per the requirement. All together it was a pleasant and memorable stay and one of the best options in Lansdowne as we got a chance to see many other hotels there.

First a few things about Lansdowne.
1. Its a tiring and very enduring 8-10 hours drive. Roads to the destination are very good or very bad in stretches. You have to cross the inside of many towns and it was a horrible experience to and fro.

2. The local taxi drivers (mostly Boleros) (starting from Kotdwar) drive dangerously fast and rash without caring for other vehicles on the road, even in the hilly terrain. It is a surprise that the authorities are not doing anything about it.

3. In case one is travelling in own vehicle from Delhi, ensure that the fuel tank is topped up at Najibabad or Kotdwar- there is no fuel station once you start climbing, and for the entire location and duration of your trip to Lansdowne and surrounding hills. The only option is to buy a few litres from local shops which too are too far away, and sell at exorbitant rates (understandably)!

4. If you can, book the Delhi Kotdwar Garhwal Express instead of taking your own vehicle. However, keep in mind that the local cab you will hire, will give you a tough time!

5. If you still decide to go to Lansdowne, Blue Pine is an excellent property. Lansdowne town is about 2 km away only. Tarkeshwar temple is about 30 km away and is a heavenly drive and a heavenly place, nestled among forest and hills, to be seen to be believed.

6. Blue Pine is a good resort built on a hill. HOwever even after the lift takes you to third floor, you have too many stairs to climb for few rooms, so one must ensure the level of the room at the time of booking. All rooms have a fantastic view of the hills. Parking is unorganized but we could manage. Food is modest, but they would be better advised to make the eating area more clean, hygienic and presentable!

7. "Mast Maggi Point" almost adjacent to the resort serves delicious Maggi and Bread Omlette- a must try.

8. There will be no phone signal at the resort, and there will be no wifi, which worked well with us though as it gave us some respite from the phone calls! The hotel was courteous enough to allow us to make urgent phone calls from their landline.

9. There is a trek from the topmost point of the resort, and it is quite enjoyable for trek lovers.

10.While at Lansdowne Enjoy Tarkeshwar (at least 5-6 hours project), TIp Top Point, Bhulla lake boating (8 to 5 in winters and 9 to 6 in summers), and thats it!

Room Tip: all rooms have a good and similar view!

It's a nice hotel for all sort of people visiting Lansdowne.
Rooms are nice and view of valley from EACH AND EVERY ROOM is great.
Restaurant is nice with decent options to fill your tummy.

The biggest problem is ZERO phone signals. Your phone will work in all other parts of the city! They are offering free WiFi, but it's useless and better not to waste your time in trying to connect to it. It gets connected only at the reception area and in restaurant besides it. But then speed is so slow, you'll curse yourself for wasting your time. ;)

Rest is all good, and resort will keep you occupied with other attractions in its compound.

It is the nearest big hotel to lansdowne main town. After this the cantonment area starts and mainly couple of Govt hotels are there beyond this point. It has around 35 rooms and very good for big groups. All rooms have valley view and it has a point from where you can have a great view of Himalayan peaks in clear sky days. Landscaping is very good, free internet in rooms with reasonable speed. Food is okay.

Room Tip: Choose for higher floor rooms for more better view
