We spent two nights here on our amazing 9 day trek to Ama Dablam base camp, which I organized directly with ESL. Due to poor visibility at Kathmandu our flight to Lukla was delayed until mid afternoon. We, a group of four, were happy to exit the airport and walk over to the lodge, where tea and cookies awaited us. Spending the night in Lukla was a good way to acclimatize to the altitude, check out the village and watch the remaining flights arrive and depart. It also provided a buffer day in case our flight was cancelled.
The lodge itself is lovey with excellent food and service. The showers are hot and the electric blankets keep you toasty!
We hiked in November and both nights the lodge was quite full. Staying here was a great way to begin and end our trek!More
