We generally know Himalaya to be 2.5 m years old. Vindhya, on the western end of which Gupt Godavari is situated, is 1 m years old. And the local guide told us that Lord Vishwakarma improved upon this naturally occurring cave, for Lord Ram , some 9,50,000. Years ago. He knew that Lord would come there sometime.
There r tens of tales associated with these caves. Tourists shud learn in advance abt the mythological history of the place to be able to really enjoy Gupta Godavari.
Do hire a guide locally. They r available for ₹ 40-50 + lunch.
Cave 2 is wet, ur shoes will sure be wet.
Enjoy the hidden treasures. Don't rush!

Around 22 km away from Chitrakoot Gupt Godavari caves are situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Awesome cave temple where you will feel serenity. Walking in water in the caves gives an amazing feeling.

One of the must visit attractions.there are two caves and first is very narrow. Plz avoid going to first cave with children. Also second one is large but not to go with children. No good restaurant nearby.
