Had lunch here after driving up the Duck Creek Road, 4x4 track. Was the only place to visit and considering it's very remote location it was fine. price was the main issue, but expensive for what you got but I suppose they have to get all their supplies to the top of a remote 900 metre mountain.

Had the burger and the chicken burger which were OK. Coffee was fine in taste but a bit like warm in temperature.
The cafe is nice, good facilities, wife, toilets and a gift shop.

There are a few walks from the cafe including a high level road bridge with a ladder to the top of the canopy at 30m high with good views. There is also some displays re the Stinson plane crash including a statue and replica of the plane.
It's your only choice for a cafe at this location but it does have pick-nicking facilities.

We, a family of 5, had breakfast buffet and dinner at the Dining Room. Both were good.

At $35 per person, the price of the breakfast buffet was comparable to that of a 5-star hotel. However I didn't find this price tag outrageous as a simple breakfast buffet in a 3-star hotel in Paris costs the same but has less variety than the o'reilly's. The food in the dining room was of good quality. The freshly squeezed orange juice was my favorite.

For dinner, prepare to spend $60+/person for a 3-course dinner excluding drinks. They do offer a kids menu. A drink, a main like fries & chicken nuggets and a dessert costs $20. Definitely not cheap but the food was delicious. The scallop, the potato leek soup, Grilled salmon, pork shank were all tasty. The steak and the minestrone were also good, not impressive though. The Trio sorbet & the ice cream sundae ended our meal perfectly.

Good food, warm ambience and cheerful waiters/waitresses, we had no complaints. We didn't have much expectation but the meal certainly gave us a pleasant surprise. What's better than having a delicious meal in this warm and rustic restaurant after a morning/an evening forest trek on a cold winter day?

We had the signature dish for 2, shoulder of Lamb. It was cooked to perfection. My partner says it is the only lamb he will now eat. The service was very good, staff were friendly and efficient. The dining room had a lovely ambience. Highly recommend a weekend stay at O'Reillys Retreat, stay in one of the Villas, expensive but worth it.

The food here is wonderful. I was expecting basic fare but we ate here 4 nights on our last visit and every night was a treat. The lamb shoulder was outstanding and a favourite of ours, so much so that my husband and I ordered it two separate nights. Being fortunate to be seated right next to the viewing window where the delightful little possums come down for their nightly feed, made the experience even more wonderful.

We wanted to make the most of the villa we had which was a little bit away from the dining room so we ordered takeaway pizzas and salads. They were beautifully made and very tasty. By the time I'd got to the restaurant topick them up, they were ready and waiting for me.

The takeaway service isn't advertised anywhere though but there are menus in the villas and that was the only clue they might.
