I have been meaning to write this review for a while.
Me and my partner went to bath for the first time for her 21st/valentines day. A gorgeous city with a lot to offer. But what really boosted our experience was this accommodation, it is close to the heart of bath with only a short bus journey, but far out enough that it's quiet.
We stayed in one night and had a romantic meal which worked perfectly. It catered to all our needs and more.
The owner was there to meet us on the day and was lovely. My partners family had also organised a surprise with the owner to set out a buffet for the evening as we found out not long before that my partner was dairy and gluten intolerant. The effort that was made to heighten our experience was immense!
I would highly recommend this accommodation for anybody wanting to go to bath. There was only two of us so the cost was reduced as we didn't use one of the rooms.
We look forward to going back again!
Stayed for 2 nights as brought my daughter to Bath University - perfect location - loved the decor - felt very homely - much nicer than staying in a hotel!!!! We loved it so much we are planning on returning at a later date and bringing extended family with us. John & Jane replied immediately with confirmation that our booking was in place. Would recommend without hesitation.
A lovely property with everything you need, and with public transport right out the front door that takes you into Bath. Well appointed, good wifi, and washing and drying facilities. The welcome pack was much appreciated even an Aussie bottle of wine! We would highly recommend this rental.
This 2 BR flat is located in Batheaston, a couple of miles from Bath. Great location, because you can easily get into Bath on the bus and also enjoy being in a very small town with convenient walking trails (somewhat hilly to reach). I'd rcommend taking the bus, because it can travel faster due to a dedicated bus lane for part of the journey and you don't have to worry about driving through narrow streets and finding parking. We had a rental car, which we left in the provided parking space, unless we were on day trips. We also enjoyed taking the boat ride into Bath from Bathampton Mills. If you're not up to walking the hills, you can leave your car parked there for the day.
On arrival we found a welcome package of milk, butter, wine and bread. Very helpful after a long day of traveling from the the US. The place is very clean. The view from the upstairs windows overlooks the lovely countryside. We liked having the bedrooms on the first floor, so they stayed cooler for overnight sleeping, although you can only open the window in one of the bedrooms. The owners recommend keeping the windows closed for better climate control, but we found it too hot in the warmer than expected August weather.
We recommend eating at The Gather, about a block away. They offer freshly prepared food for breakfast or lunch in a homey cafe. We also enjoyed a typical pub dinner at George and Dragon in Batheaston. Be aware that it's quite a hill walking into town for those with bad knees. The owners provided an extensive information packet before arrival.
Overall our traveling group of two couples had a wonderful time staying here. Thank you John and Jane!
