“Beautiful accommodation ”

I have been meaning to write this review for a while.

Me and my partner went to bath for the first time for her 21st/valentines day. A gorgeous city with a lot to offer. But what really boosted our experience was this accommodation, it is close to the heart of bath with only a short bus journey, but far out enough that it's quiet.

We stayed in one night and had a romantic meal which worked perfectly. It catered to all our needs and more.

The owner was there to meet us on the day and was lovely. My partners family had also organised a surprise with the owner to set out a buffet for the evening as we found out not long before that my partner was dairy and gluten intolerant. The effort that was made to heighten our experience was immense!

I would highly recommend this accommodation for anybody wanting to go to bath. There was only two of us so the cost was reduced as we didn't use one of the rooms.

We look forward to going back again!

Thanks Todd for your very kind words. All of us really appreciate your comments, especially Deborah, our housekeeper, who is always happy to cater for guests' special requirments. We love doing that sort of thing as it makes us stand out from the crowd. I know it's easy for us to say, but it's doubtful a 5 star hotel would offer some of the things we do for our guests as part of the service. We look forward to looking after you again soon.

Regards

Stayed for 2 nights as brought my daughter to Bath University - perfect location - loved the decor - felt very homely - much nicer than staying in a hotel!!!! We loved it so much we are planning on returning at a later date and bringing extended family with us. John & Jane replied immediately with confirmation that our booking was in place. Would recommend without hesitation.

That's really nice to hear Nadine. We are so pleased you found what you wanted here and would like to come back. We try to respond to all communication almost immediately, which is a bit different to the norm., judging by our experiences when we have booked self catering accommodation :-)

Best regards

“Excellent place to stay”

A lovely property with everything you need, and with public transport right out the front door that takes you into Bath. Well appointed, good wifi, and washing and drying facilities. The welcome pack was much appreciated even an Aussie bottle of wine! We would highly recommend this rental.

“Countryside and city of Bath combined”
Reviewed 9 September 2017 for a stay in August 2017

This 2 BR flat is located in Batheaston, a couple of miles from Bath. Great location, because you can easily get into Bath on the bus and also enjoy being in a very small town with convenient walking trails (somewhat hilly to reach). I'd rcommend taking the bus, because it can travel faster due to a dedicated bus lane for part of the journey and you don't have to worry about driving through narrow streets and finding parking. We had a rental car, which we left in the provided parking space, unless we were on day trips. We also enjoyed taking the boat ride into Bath from Bathampton Mills. If you're not up to walking the hills, you can leave your car parked there for the day.

On arrival we found a welcome package of milk, butter, wine and bread. Very helpful after a long day of traveling from the the US. The place is very clean. The view from the upstairs windows overlooks the lovely countryside. We liked having the bedrooms on the first floor, so they stayed cooler for overnight sleeping, although you can only open the window in one of the bedrooms. The owners recommend keeping the windows closed for better climate control, but we found it too hot in the warmer than expected August weather.

We recommend eating at The Gather, about a block away. They offer freshly prepared food for breakfast or lunch in a homey cafe. We also enjoyed a typical pub dinner at George and Dragon in Batheaston. Be aware that it's quite a hill walking into town for those with bad knees. The owners provided an extensive information packet before arrival.

Overall our traveling group of two couples had a wonderful time staying here. Thank you John and Jane!

We were really happy to receive your comprehensive review Carolyn, much appreciated. We are pleased you got the boat into the City - as you found out that's a real treat. We are a little puzzled about your comment about the hill walking into town. Not sure which way you went because it's a level walk straight into the City, even though there are plenty of hills around us - including the famous Solsbury Hill.

Yes, the Gather cafe just a few yards away from us is a real bonus - we are very lucky to have that.

Hope the rest of your trip is as pleasant as this part.

Regards
