My wife and I have just returned from a two week holiday in Agios Gordios and can honestly say we couldn't have found a better place to stop.
We arrived very late on our first night but Spyros was there to meet us and made a quick call to Marianna who gave us a lovely welcome saying that her in laws Sophia and Spyros don't speak English but can usually understand by universal hand language and said if there's anytime we get stuck or need anything to ring her.
The next morning we found plenty of storage to unpack and everything you need, plenty of pots pans, cutlery, a large fridge, aircon, a safe, a shower that never ran out of hot water, hair dryer, free wifi a real home from home and our balcony with views of the mountains shaded by an avocado tree which was lovely to sit and have breakfast on.
The villa is absolutely very clean and Sophia and Spyros are there as soon as you rise from an undisturbed sleep and are watering the lovely gardens which the villa is set in and generally keeping the place in tip top condition.
Our bins were emptied every day and sheets and towels changed every two we were given washing up liquid and the toilet rolls were plentiful.
The villa itself is situated in the best place literally 50 ft off the main street and 2 minutes from the beach but so quiet at night - perfect for us and close enough to pop back in the day if it got a bit hot.
Agios itself never seems to change that's why we love it so much ,beautiful people beautiful places to eat and drink at , just the place to unwind and recharge your batteries and the two weeks really lasts.
One thing that was noticeable to us was the exchange rate really made things quite expensive, we ended up spending a lot more eating and drinking and mooching out and about than we ever have before.
One thing that made a big difference to us was on our last day we weren't flying until 23.30pm so I sent a message to Marianna to see if there was somewhere we could store the bags and maybe get a shower and change of clothes later as is the norm.
Sophia got someone who could speak English to tell me the room was ours until we needed it as there was no one moving in that day , it basically gave us another days holiday which ended our holiday stress free.
I cant recommend Sophias apartments highly enough , we will definitely stay there again in the future.
We had a lovely stay at VillaSophia. Clean rooms, quiet place and lovely hospitality ❤️ Feel like "Home" fantastic wiew from our wonderfoul balcony ❤️
Sophia was very unfriendly because we brought a dog with us. Our dog was especially mentioned before booking, because it is only normal that some owners had some bad experiences with animals an so refuse them. But no problem for Marianna, the contact person and family of Sophia, before our booking.
I'm glad we could not understood what Sophia was yelling in Greek. But not a way to start your holiday. She stopped cleaning the apartment when we arrived a little bit early (1 hour) and decided to leave it like that after the dispute with our dog.
Not to recommend
Just returned from a 2 week stay at Villa Sophia(Apartment 6). I would highly recommend this apartment with its lovely sea views. It has a great central location but in a quiet spot close to all the restaurants and a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Sophia was wonderful and kept the place spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay here again.
