Very nice and great location

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Apr 2018via mobile
What a pleasant suprise this was! Le Duc was my primary choice based on pictures and reviews and it not only met expectations but it exceeded them in many ways. Our room was big, spacious and with wonderful design. The shower and tub were delightful and the towering seeling was an added plus that can't be seen or felt in pictures. The whole hotel is full of vegetation and a lot of little touches that make it truly special.

The staff were also graceful and always willing to help out with a big smile.

We booked with Half Board which was totally worth it. Everyday was different and it was not always great, but most of the time it delivered. Fish was delicious, coconut octopus was great and cheese selection and bread were also great.

For a boutique hotel they go out of their way to make you feel like you're in a five star resort. Definitely worth the visit. It so has direct access to a wonderful beach and markets and small restaurants very close by. If you want a club or bar, Chill Out has a very nice view. Recommended. 9.5 out of 10.0

We stayed one week in a superior room. Very nice modern large room with attached bathroom, toilet,(rain) shower and bath on the first floor. Spotless clean. A huge balcony with chairs and double sunbed, overviewing the well maintained spacious tropical garden. If you can afford you won’t regret staying here. Beautiful anse d’or with sunbeds, only 50m away. Service is excellent, staff very nice , polite and helpfull. Breakfast buffet is huge and of high quality. We were even allowed to keep our room till 17:00pm on the day of departure. Discount coupons were provided for the excellent restaurant. We joined one time seafood grill buffet.
Only negative issue is the Wifi. During our stay we had several times a day to re-enter provided IP address, provided 10character username and 5character password to get connected. For every device different. And 3 mornings impossible to get internet connection. IT guy was always struggling to get it working, but this is simply not up to standard. Because of wifi only 4 star instead of 5.

My family spent few days at this Amazing place. Spacious rooms, excellent selection of dishes for breakfast and dinner, attention to details on the premises of the hotel, very friendly staff and great beach with turquoise, crystal clear water.
Just a paradise!

This was by far the most expensive hotel we stayed at on our trip and the other two where fishermans cove and the Constance euphelia! On the face of it the grounds are lovely and the beach well maintained and good loungers etc. This is a 3 star hotel that prices itself as more and provides the service of much less. We didn't eat here as the atmosphere in the evenings is extremely flacid and the food wildly overpriced. Food is much cheaper in the the restaurants in town (Les Laurier is wonderful). Some decent music and pricing more within the right bracket would make much more sense it was a shame to see the place empty. Frankly the dress code is a joke in this situation especially at cafe des artes not entirely sure of the reasoning but again puts people off. The bar man in the hotel was rude and most of the time we felt we were putting him out. Frankly for the price of the drinks they should be served as and when, to a better quality and hopefully with a smile. Nobody what's to feel they are inconveniencing someone especially on this holiday but this hotel has it down to a fine art! Better management and service is definetly required it's a shame to see such a nice hotel not being used just because all the guests are made to feel to uncomfortable to spend time there! Shout out the the Sri Lankan waiters and beach staff in cafe des rates who made us laugh, made nice drinks and made being at the beach a pleasure.

Many Thanks for your Feedback Mr/s Halken,
We have noted your comments and will work even harder at making our Hotel an even better place to visit.
Le Duc De Praslin started off some 25 years ago with only 3 rooms. we have worked hard to improve and upgrade and know there is still room for improvement. Today we have 43 rooms and another 20 rooms by the end of April 2019.
Happy to hear at least our Restaurant staff on the beach made your stay a pleasant one.
Thank you.again

Theoretically very good place. Rooms are just GREAT. Pool is nice. Location is very good. Food is good. BUT: staff is so far from being sophisticated and professional. Examples?
- room cleaning at 330pm and we are with a child that of course sleeps at that time
- if the baby plays too much in the pool it is inconvenient.
- ice cream for the baby during dinner? You have to pay (in a half board treatment)
- you need rice for the 2 ys old baby? There is no rice. They swear to god there is no rice. They swear to god there is zero possibility of having rice. Than they take you a dish of fish from the menu and it comes with a ton of rice as a dressing. Wtf!
- it is probably 35 degrees and 95pc humidity. The child wants to stay in the pool at 730pm. No, too late. They say ‘sir, staying in the pool after 730 is at your risk”. ??? A pool 60 cm height? My risk? Wtf
- the child plays with two little stones in the pool. No, inconvenient, he cant. Wtf
- wifi doesnt work at all. You ask for help at the reception, the lady is super impolite. Seems lime i am really bothering her. I insist, she promise that an IT guy will come to my room in minutes. After two days i am still waiting for the guy. Wtf
- a glass of cheap wine by the pool? 10 euros. Ok seychelles need to import even water. This is the least...

I mean....place is very nice, but hospitality is just so unsophisticated. Such a pity.
