We (two families with children aged between one and eight) spent two weeks in this beautiful villa and could not fault it. The villa was spotless when we arrived and were greeted warmly by mother and son Vaso and Harris, who had thoughtfully stocked the fridge with essentials (eggs, wine, jam etc) and prepared a delicious snack of dakos, olives and feta, washed down with raki. Their generous hospitality continued throughout the holiday - one day, when they turned up to clean, Vaso brought a huge pasticcio she had cooked.
The villa is spacious and exceptionally well maintained, as are the gardens, with their tidy lawns and borders. The pizza oven / BBQ / outdoor kitchen with its proximity to the poolside eating area was a highlight - we enjoyed many long lunches here. For evening meals or pre-dinner drinks, we switched to the terrace off the kitchen, where we never tired of watching the stunning Greek sunsets.
The location of the villa was ideal for us too. There is a well stocked supermarket at the bottom of the drive and the small town of Perama is about 1km away. Perama itself is unremarkable - more 'functional' than somewhere you would visit - but Panormo, about 6km away - is charming. Bustling terrace restaurants overlooking the small fishing harbour and beaches serve unpretentious Greek food and cocktails, and there are several little streets with a mix of boutiques and tourist knick-knack shops to explore. The beaches in Panormo are small but clean and not overly busy. We never thought we would love this place as much as we did.
