This was our 2nd stay at the Haraki Beach House and we loved it just as much as last year. The house is "real", i.e. it's not just a holiday home; it's a proper house, with a fully kitted out kitchen, loads of spare linen, books & games and a great feel to the house. Maria is (as everyone else has already said) the perfect host; a fridge full of treats to get us started, thorough cleaning during the week and easily contactable. The position of the house couldn't be better; at the quiet end of the promenade, the terrace is perfect for watching the world go by, but only 1 min walk from the closest restaurant. We'll be back in 2019!
(I can't find them as a separate listing, but we'd also recommend Paul and Mary at M&S car hire to collect you from the airport and provide very good car hire)
I have just returned with my family (2 adults and 2 teenagers) from a wonderful stay at this beautiful traditional property. We were met by Maria who made us feel very welcome. The beach front property is very clean and spacious with superb facilities. The location is perfect, a stones throw from all the resorts facilities yet in a quieter spot on the promenade. This is our fifth stay in Haraki but our first at this property and we would not hesitate to stay here again. Thank you Maria and Stefanos for a truly wonderful stay!
Improbable location of the house! All holiday felt in the house! Maria and Manolis so hospitable and pleasant people that we have made friends! Remained very happy stay in Haraki the house and we will surely return there again
Back again this year -so must be good ( see last years review) Again the position right on the sea is the highlight with the sun speckled front patio a major asset. Sand and sea just a few feet away across pedestrian promenade. Interior is traditional and homely with wifi and TV. Private parking adjacent. Owners friendly and helpful - despite our flight being 2 hrs late Maria waited on to greet us with fresh flowers and home made jam! Haraki remains a small quiet resort with good tavernas and mini markets, and is well placed for touring island.
My husband and I stayed here for six days at the beginning of June 2016. We were met and shown around by the owners mother Maria, who was a delightful lady.
The apartment comprises a lounge, kitchen (with all utensils), bathroom with shower, two bedrooms, one with two single beds and one with a double bed. (Be aware that you have to walk trough the twin bedded room to reach the double bedroom, so not altogether private). The double bedroom had ample wardrobe space, one of which contained a safe. A back porch kitted out with washing machine and drying line.
Wi-Fi was excellent and contained within the price as were the two sunbeds and umbrella on the beach directly in front of the apartment. However, when the wind got up the umbrella had a tendency to fly away!!
But the piece de resistance was the front patio which is a few steps from and looks out onto the sea. This was a joy as it was sheltered from the hot sunshine at all times of the day by the flowering shrubs, so breakfast on the patio looking out to sea and a glass of wine in a different part of the patio in the evening - bliss!
This apartment is a family home, so is authentically Greek, it has not been modernised (except for the addition of air conditioning) - which was a joy as once in it you knew you were in Rhodes. (I dislike apartments which are all the same and could be anywhere in the world). It had everything you would need on holiday including a lovely welcome pack.
We were slightly disappointed that during our stay there was no "maid service" at all, but this did nothing to lessen our enjoyment.
There are some wonderful tavernas around the bay at which to eat and I can personally recommend them all.
The booking process was extremely easy and Stephanos, answered all questions quickly and gave wonderful directions to the property.
Many thanks to the lovely owners for renting their delightful apartment.
