“Beautiful chalet in a charming village, away from the crowds”
Reviewed 26 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Just returned from a fantastic few days' staying at Le Petit Chalet, with wonderful skiing at La Tzoumaz and Verbier. Le Petit Chalet is a charming, spacious chalet with every home comfort, including a roaring fire, sauna, and fantastic power showers to soothe you after a day on the slopes. The views from the chalet are stunning and La Tzoumaz is a pretty village with good amenities. La Tzoumaz suits novice or less confident skiers with well pisted, quiet slopes and a blue ski track that allows you to easily ski back to the village. All pistes and lifts are well connected to fully explore the area and for those wanting more challenging skiing, there are some good reds, great off piste and you can easily ski to Verbier where you are spoiled for choice!!! We enjoyed the lovely mountain restaurants - Croix de Coeur being our favourite and at the end of the day, after a warming Vin Chaud, we skied right back to the car!! Loved it! Hope to be back again soon :-)

“Just right......”

Everything really was just right.....

A short hop from the airport, stopping en route to stock up on supplies, before we climbed and climbed and climbed til we reached La Tzoumaz.

The deep lying snow all around wasn't a problem as we unpacked the hire car - the heated drive meant we got down right next to the front door.

The chalet is truly "tardis-like" - you enter into the small porch, kick-off the boots, then open the door into the heart of the chalet - a fantastic living space combining a lounge area with comfy sofas, a dining area with a huge table for socialising around, a wood-fire place in the corner which was soon roaring and a well appointed kitchenette with all mod-cons. Plenty of space to lounge around after a hard-day's skiing.

Bedrooms upstairs and downstairs are roomy, cosy and well appointed - the bathrooms and utility room are plenty big enough for a house-full tired skiers with damp clothes and bulky gear. And the sauna provided a great way to unwind.

The village's free bus service picks up right outside the door, which was great for heading off skiing or, in the early evening, down to the village centre for a few beers in the friendly Dutch-run bar.

We took one excursion down the mountain to the hot springs - which was a different way to spend the evening.

Because, of course, we crammed in all the skiing we could on La Tzoumaz's pistes. We were a mixed ability crew - so it was great that the skiing suited all-comers.

We were a party of old friends - and everything about the chalet and the village worked brilliantly for us. But I can equally imagine it being just as good for families too.

So, as I said, everything was just right......
