On our vacations we have rented many apartments and houses in different European countries. Still it´s no exaggeration to say that we have never stayed in one as well equipped, cosy and welcoming as Casa Rita. Lovely and tastefully furnished rooms (and a spacious and perfectly clean bathroom, too). The location is central yet calm and the hostess Marijke is very helpful and forthcoming. A perfect place to stay for a visit in charming Limoux.
We made our way through the little town streets of Limoux to this beautiful, classic french house. The weather was mild so it wasn't long before the house was heated and very cosy!
You wont want for room here, the beds are spacious and there is plenty of space in the kitchen and lounge areas.
But why would you want to stay indoors? The town square is a 2 minute walk away equiped with cafes, restaurants, bakeries, charcuteries and cheese shops.
If you are in Limoux on a Saturday definitely head to the town markets. The locals and local food artisan are wonderfully friendly even if all you can manage in french is 'bonjour!'
If you like relaxing walks and scenic drives, wine tasting, history or (need i say it?) amazing food! This will be a great place for your next holiday.
We travelled with two young (1 and 3) children to Casa Rita in the heart of Limoux just a half hour from Carcassonne. From the outset our host, Marijke was excellent and was by far the most prompt in her replies that I've received from holiday rental owners. Every aspect of organising what was not a straight forward booking was made very easy for us by Marijke and certainly made our trip very easy all the way down to her recommendations on local dining, markets and craft courses. The house had everything we could want with a great rustic kitchen, a spacious lounge room and master bedroom, an ample second bedroom and a sitting room on the top floor with such a spectacular view that it demanded a glass of Blanquette at sunset. We loved her place the minute we arrived and after spending 5 weeks there look forward to getting back there as soon as we can.

This old four story house close to the heart of Limoux is just perfect! It is quirky, full of character and tastefully decorated with a mixture of old and new furnishings. Most importantly it was very clean. There is a kitchen with all that you need to rustle up a meal, a spacious sitting room, roomy bathroom and two airy bedrooms. A delightful south facing attic room overlooking the terracotta roofs is the icing on the cake.
We loved Limoux which is large enough to have a good mixture of local shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, yet small enough to have a small town feel.
The region is well worth exploring with the Pyrenees to the south, the Med to the east and Carcassonne to the north. Closer to the town itself are wonderful hilltop villages to visit and a landscape full of vineyards.
