Lets get the bad bits out of the way. Its not 5* like [--] advise but to be honest what it lacks in some areas it makes up in others.
The main lobby and lounge is dark and needs an upgrade but the terrace and taverna style eating area outside is just superb
I rate a hotel on the question.. Would I go back. Yes sure would in this case.
The views are great especially in the evening around sunset. It lives up to its name 'Panorama'.
I really loved the pool area. The water whilst salty like most hotels in the area was wonderful. Clean and refreshing and such a joy to swim and relax in. Loads of sunbeds always seemed enough for all.
The staff were absolutely friendly and genuine. The rooms clean and spacious, perhaps not the best choice of TV channels.. but who goes on holiday to such a great location to watch it!
There is a small beach in front of the hotel but not really suitable for swimming. Near by turn right at the hotel gates and 3 beaches are within easy walking distance or bus. The first is broad and my least favorite.. but move onto the next ones which are small coves with beautiful clear water and normal beach facilities. With a hire car then many others are in easy reach.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and I would recommend to others.. but as said it is not 5* but very good just the same.

Stayed at the panorama the last week of May. The sun shined every day. We stayed in the executive part, which is nearest the road. Can be noisy if you sunbathe on your terrace but you get used to it. The room was nice and cleaned every day. The pool area is great, it is higher up so you can not hear the road noise, the pool is an infinity type so you can see the beautiful views as you swim. It was not very busy either so plenty of sunbeds were available. All the staff were very pleasant and put up with my bad impressions of the Greek language, which they were happy to correct!!!! The food was great. There was a good variety of both English and Continental food. My wife is intolerant to cows milk and wheat and did not have a problem. Plenty of feta cheese, salads and fruit. She also took her own soya milk to meals, which she kept in the room's mini bar fridge.

Do not believe the blurb for this hotel on lastminute !!! We did, and feel for it hook, line and sinker !

There is no way in the world that this hotel is a 5*, even being generous. It is more like a Greek 3*. The rooms are OK, clean and tidy, and typical Greek decor, and the swimming pool is nice. The rest of the hotel however, is horrendous.

The blurbs state that this hotel has a Greek taverna, coffee shop etc. as well as the main restaurant and pool bar. Well, the truth is, the Greek taverna is the pool bar, and the coffee shop is the bar in the reception area. The main restaurant serves repetitive, poor quality buffet food, which is re-used. After one breakfast we saw two types of milk being mixed together to be put out again the next day, which is not good for someone with allergies or intolerances. The food is supposedly 'themed' every night, which you have to take with a pince of salt, there isn't even really that much choice. If you don't want to eat at the main buffet every night the reception will give you a voucher for a certain amount at the pool bar, which you have to have at lunch time, and we got dirty stares and comments everytime we asked for one. If you actually want decent food, walk out of the hotel, turn right, and keep walking to the main street, which is actually next to the beach (its only about a 10min walk or you can get a taxi) and there are some beautiful tavernas which actually serve decent food and have really attentive service. We ate there for most of our 2nd week. Oh, and the hotel is not beach side as the blurbs describe it, there is a main road separating the hotel drive to what is a small patch of sand and not exactly where you would want to sunbath or let your children play.

We have been to Greece for many, many years and experienced different levels of accomodation and food, but for Crete, never again. If you think this hotel is 5*, you are in for a shock. Oh, and the hotel and tour operators don't think there is anything wrong with it (as we filed a claim for misrepresentation)

My wife and I stayed here this month and I have to say that we were a little apprehensive on reading the previous review before we set out. However, II'm pleased to say that we had a lovely time. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and our sea view room was very good. The maid service was excellent and the food and service in the restaurant were excellent also. I would definitely recommend a stay here and would like to return at some point again. We stayed in the main hotel and not The Panorama Blue, which I have to say looked very nice as well.

We booked this hotel after being told it was a 5 star hotel and were very disappointed on arrival when we discovered the 5 star accommodation is actually in the new Blue wing which is very different to the main hotel building. The hotel resembled a cheap travel lodge with the decor obviously been aquired from 'Crossroads' Motel after the programme finished. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpul with the exception of the nice lady who ran the gift shop. The food was so bad we only ate in the restaurant 3 nights out of the 14 we were there and after talking to other guests we found we were not the only ones to have this view. The entertainment was entertaining for the wrong reasons although the ents staff deserve 10/10 for their enthusiasm. The pool was freezing cold and saltwater so not particularly nice if you swallowed any water. The hotel is situated on a busy road with the noise of cars being heard in your room with doors and windows closed. The buses are a godsend as they are frequent and get you away from the hotel. Chania itself is worth a visit for the shops but is not a pretty town by any means. I would recommend anybody booking this hotel to check with the tour operator that if it is stated to be a 5 star holiday that you are in the 5 star wing and not the 2 star hotel!

Greek island themes, Cretan ceramics and beautiful pastel paint-works combined together, reflect the island’s rich history.
